Participate in a free trial of a service aimed towards patrons who watch videos, listen to music or audio books, or read books on their computer or device.
This trial is due to take effect in February 2018.
There will be NO wait time with this service - every book, movie, or piece of music is available to borrow instantly.
The trial will last
for one month
and, if implemented, will be free for library patrons.

Red Cross Blood Drive

Donations of finger food are encouraged and welcome, and will serve as a thank-you to all donors for their donation of this valuable and potentially life-saving gift. Drop off your delicacy at the library during library hours on December 26.

Monthly Writing Group

Join the Rodgers Library writing group! Begin the day with warm-up writing exercises in a group environment where writing ideas and methods are shared and discussed, followed by individual work on personal writing projects.The last 15 minutes will be spent reading work to the group or discussing our progress.
Feel free to join us for just one session or every month.

Join us and enjoy the sounds of roots music from the folk, blues and old time traditions! Mike Rogers has opened for Emmy Lou Harris, Tom Rush, the Eagles, James Montgomery and others.
The DCU Free Concert series is possible through a generous grant from the Digital Credit Union. Free concerts are held the second Saturday of the month at 2pm.

Writing Retreat!

Plan some time to write! Make arrangements to step away for the day and join Diane MacKinnon, master life coach, and get those creative juices flowing. Diane will lead participants in several short writing exercises, moving into longer periods of writing that will allow writers to work on their own individual projects.
Small type: $25 event fee covers morning coffee, a box lunch, and some writers' swag!

3D Printing for Adults Returns!

If you're curious about 3D (three-dimensional) printing - what it is, how it works, and why its becoming an indispensable tool in engineering and robotics - join our 3D workshop to find out more. Participants will gain a basic overview of 3D printing, design a small name tag or bookmark using a simple online 3D design and printing tool, and conclude the workshop by seeing their design being printed.
Laptops and all materials provided, but feel free to bring your own laptop. Registration required. This workshop is geared to adults. Register here.

2018 Teen Programming and Corrections
Corrections regarding teen programs beginning in January 2018:
We're looking forward to starting a few new things in the New Year! Unfortunately, in our excitement, we put out some information that isn't accurate. Specifically:
- The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) will be meeting on the first Monday of the month at 2:30 PM, rather than the fourth Monday as previously reported. That means the first meeting will be February 5th, as January 1st is a holiday.
- The first meeting of the Tabletoppers will be on January 12th at 2 PM, not January 5th. Subsequent meetings will occur as previously described.

A special relationship...
Become a Friend of the Rodgers Memorial Library by joining a group of volunteers who support a variety of activities including the purchase of the 3D Printer, the Telescope, learning modules and other equipment for the children's room; award the Leonard A. Smith Memorial Scholarship; provide funding for the Summer Reading Program, movie licenses, Santa photos, author forums and a variety of Humanities Council programs.
Choose from activities including being a Santa's Helper, Second Hand Prose "librarians", celebrating National Library Week with library staff, or participate in a variety of other opportunities.
The Friends have supported the Hudson library system for over 35 years and were instrumental in focusing on the need to build a new home for expanded services which culminated in the construction and opening of the new library donated by the Rodgers family in 2009.
The Friends are a 501c(3) organization, have business meetings five times a year to plan for activities and form necessary sub-committees. Tax-deductible annual membership dues are $10 (individual), $20 (family), $30 (patron) or $50 (business).
