VOICES FROM OZONE HOUSE :
WORKING TO END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS

On a hot afternoon in late September, members of our SpeakOut team dramatized the realities of being young and homeless, from wondering where to find toilet paper while living on the streets to the heartbreak of being bullied at school.

In "Voices from Ozone" (written and directed by Eastern Michigan University student Jenny Roger with input from Ozone youth), half a dozen young performers in their teens and 20s called on legislators, judges, and other decision-makers to learn more and do a better job of helping homeless youth.

Many advocates and policymakers are hard at work trying to solve the issue of youth homelessness, but barriers to success range from how to do an accurate head count to lack of affordable housing. Click here to read more about our efforts to end youth homelessness in Concentrate Ann Arbor.

HALLOZONE & YPSIGLOW

Young people had a blast at our annual HallOzone party at the Drop-In Center in Ypsilanti on October 26th. It was a "fear factor" smorgasbord of scary foods!

Lots of folks also came out for YpsiGlow on October 27th. Many youth and staff worked for weeks on great glowing costumes. We love being a part of this spirited event!
