The Bais Yaakov Memorial Classrooms Campaign

WOMEN'S CHALLAH BAKE
The Middle School always looks for ways to teach our girls the importance of extending themselves on behalf of one's community.  We were excited to send some of our girls to help set up for this year's  Women's Challah Bake, a program of the Baltimore Shabbat Project. Approximately 40 girls from our 8th Grade worked together with girls from Ohr Chadash Middle School to assist the noble effort of setting up for the event at Pimlico Race Track on the morning of October 24th. The girls worked together preparing over 150 tables with  p lacemats, bowls, gloves, measuring cups and spoons, as well as all of the challah ingredients for over 1500 women to bake challah! The girls returned to school feeling energized and productive after being able to participate in their own small way for this extraordinary community effort.
GEMACH
Gemach  is running full force, enabling so many of our students to shine.  Since the start of the school year our  Gemach heads together with their committees have inspired fellow  students to help out at the  Menucha Carnival, participate in making "Blankets for Houston" and  raise  $800 for  Ahavas Yisroel  through their Tehillim-a-thon.   Our Bulletin Board  Committee has already created two beautiful  displays in Sinai Hospital's Bikur Cholim Room.

Our most recent program called "Operation Fill-A-Bucket" showed the girls how sensitivity, and  focusing on how to "fill someone's bucket" with kind words and actions, has a spillover effect and makes caring contagious.

As we "Investigate with Gemach 2018", we are sure to discover many more ways to make Bais Yaakov and the world a better place.  Helping others always brings out the best in us.
SEVENTH GRADE TRIP
The 7th Grade took some time off from class to spend the afternoon enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors with their classmates and teachers at Meadowood Regional Park. There, under the direction of Mrs. Polsky, the 7th grade counselor, students participated in team building activities which help build a greater sense of responsibility and camaraderie towards each other.
