It's just so busy! How can one take time to be thankful?

At lunch I saw a photo of the crowds at the Denver Airport! - Oh my!

Four hundred years ago people had a horrible voyage to the New World and an even harder once they got here, but they were thankful! If I had undertaken that voyage and start-up, I would have written a 100 page document on how to make the experience better and avoid the pit-falls.

I guess that I'm more critical than I am thankful.

We have new blessings every day. It's humble to be thankful. It's easy to be prideful.

It appears to be our nature to be prideful. If we're good looking, have a good personality, have a positive disposition, have money and possessions - surely that is a result of our efforts! It is easy to take pride in those things.

To be thankful admits that what we are and what we have is largely beyond our control.

That's not to say that we are not thankful for many things in nature, in the world, in loved ones. But what about those who protect us  even though they don't know who we are and we don't know who they are? What about the nosy neighbor who is always watching your house to make sure you're OK? What about that driver on the freeway that wasn't texting so that he would not harm your family? What about God's love that surrounds you and is with you through your life's end?

Take moments out of your life to be thankful - for everything - and not just on Thanksgiving.
