Campus Hosts First-Ever Ordination
Ordination Service 11.26.17
New Director of Spiritual Life, Rev. Rebekah Tucker-Motley, was ordained to the office of Minster of Word and Sacrament, and installed to her ministry at PPAS on Sunday, November 26. It was a double celebration, as it marked the culmination of 3 years of study and work for Pastor T-M, as the kids call her, and the first time an ordination and installation service has been held in Morris Chapel. A native of Virginia, Pastor T-M assumed while she was in seminary that she would return home post graduation. But, "the call to PPAS and to work with these amazing kids was strong," she says. We are certainly blessed to have her on staff!
New Sound System Coming Soon
Our second-annual  Giving Tuesday campaign was a resounding success,  thanks to our kind and generous friends. We asked our kids what campus needed, and they said that the sound system in Morris Chapel really needed updating. Only one speaker worked, and the amplifiers and microphones functioned spottily at times. This made worship distracting, and sometimes difficult to participate in, they said.

We reached out to YOU with a goal of $9,440 to replace the system, and you stepped up. As a matter of fact, we EXCEEDED OUR GOAL, with a total of $10,460 raised! Plans are in the works to purchase the new sound equipment for the benefit of all of our students.
Thank you
It's "SNOW" Amazing!
Snow on campus 12.8.17
What a surprise to find the campus covered in a blanket of snow the morning of Friday, December 8! Unfortunately, it came a day too late for the majority of our students, as they had already left campus for Christmas break.

The few Eagles who remained (due to flight cancellations) enjoyed the snow play, and built their own version of Frosty.

NHS New Members Inducted
Lighting the NHS Candle
Academic excellence is one of the pillars of PPAS. On Friday, December 1, twenty-two students were announced and inducted into the John A. Mackay Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) during a special ceremony in Morris Chapel. Each year, teachers consider and choose pupils who most uphold the NHS ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Per the Pan Am tradition, the new inductees learned that they were chosen when a current NHS member presented them with a yellow rose.

Christmas Candlelight Alights Morris Chapel
The Morris Chapel Choir and Campus Ministry Council's hard and faithful work paid off on Saturday, December 2, as students and staff gathered in worship to celebrate Christ's coming a bit early. Our traditional Lesson and Carols Christmas Candlelight service is a campus favorite, as it provides a special opportunity for the Pam Am community to recall the primary reason the school exists. Merry Christmas to all!

2017 Annual Appeal
When she was an incoming freshman, Angela traveled a long way by herself to come to the U.S. and the high school that she'd been dreaming of attending. Now a senior, she says that she'd do it again, because PPAS has been all that she hoped for, and more. Scholarship support made it possible. There's still time in 2017 to make tax-deductible donation to Pan Am to support students like Angela, and her sister Zabdi, pictured here.

Won't you consider a year-end gift to Presbyterian Pan American School so we can help students like Angela and Zabdi discover their possibilities?
