Fall Harvest Festival - Our Biggest Outreach Of The Year! - This Sunday!
Sunday, Nov. 5, 11am-1:30pm. Our 4th Annual community outreach event will have jump houses, pony rides, face painting, games, adult 3-on-3 basketball tournament and many food trucks! Purchase your wristbands for $10, fill out participant waivers and sign up for your basketball team on our website www.ljpres.org/harvest. The Story Schedule

In the week BEFORE Sunday Worship:
Read the chapter in advance of the coming Sunday
(usually 12-15 pages)

Sunday MORNING:
The Sermon and Sunday School classes (for adults, youth and children) will focus on key passages from that week's Chapter.

In the week AFTER Sunday Worship:
Meet with your small group, book discussion group, or family devotion time
to go through the handout for the previous week's reading.

Rev. Stan Beard is leading a class on Wednesdays at 11:00am in Fellowship Hall called, "The Rest of the Story", it's presented by Growing Together in Faith, and open to everyone.

Women's Bible Study taught by Cynthia Blase. Wednesday mornings from 9:15-10:45am, LC3. For women of all ages, childcare will be provided with an RSVP.

Women's Bible Study - Wednesday Mornings
Wednesday mornings from 9:15-10:45am, in room LC3. Join us for an in depth look at the 31-week sermon series that Pastor Paul Cunningham is teaching, called The Story. This Bible Study for women of all ages will be taught by Cynthia. We will look at the continuous story of Scripture, focusing on the expectation for Christ, and seeing how we fit into this amazing story. Childcare will be provided with an RSVP.

#MOMLIFE - Friday Mornings
Friday mornings from 9:15-10:45am, in room LC3. Join this new fellowship group for women in the "mom stage" of life! We will hear the stories of various women in our church, pray together, and support each other through life's ups and downs. Drop-in and enjoy coffee and treats! Childcare is provided! We are also looking for women interested in either being mentor moms or in sharing their stories so please reach out to Cynthia if you are interested!

MONTHLY MOM'S PRAYER NIGHT
1st Thursday of the month, rotating homes, 7:30-9:30pm, starting Oct. 5. This evening prayer group, designed for moms who can't attend the morning groups, will gather at rotating houses around PB & LJ. This group will focus on praying together and supporting each other.

Clippers Dinner and Fellowship - Friday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 pm
Sharing faith, fellowship and food with singles and couples 50 and over.
 
Are you ready for some Christian Blue Grass Music (provided by Shoreline Pickers) faith, fellowship and a great pot luck Dinner? Come join the Clippers on Friday, November 10th for an uplifting program of Christian Bluegrass music by the Shoreline Pickers. You will recognize many hymns like "Amazing Grace," "In the Garden," "Just a closer walk with Thee," and "What a friend we have in Jesus." In addition, some not so familiar songs like "I saw the light," "Keep on the sunny side," "Drifting too far from the shore" and several others are guaranteed to put a smile on your face and have you tapping your foot.
       
Please bring enough food for 12-14 people (we need extra this month with the Band and guests).

Holiday Grief Class - Nov. 12
Sunday Nov. 12, 10:00am in LC-3, Holiday Grief Class. The Holiday Season is anything but festive when we are grieving the loss of someone or something. In this Sunday morning class we will lift each other up amid our shared loss, and explore ways in which the Lord can guard us and guide us through a suddenly altered season. If your heavy heart has you wanting to skip over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, join Pastor Scott and others for this class. Scott Mitchell, scottm@ljpres.org.

STEAM Science and Faith Discussion - Nov. 16
Thursday, Nov. 16. College and Post-Graduate Students. Please join us as Guest Speaker Dr. Darrel Falk, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Point Loma Nazarene University will discuss, an evolutionary understanding of God's creation among other topics of faith and biology. Saturday Nov. 18, 6-9pm Come romp around in your boots with some groovy fellowship, fab fun and righteous faith with other young-at-heart folks over 50.
