International Banquet Celebrates Diversity
International Banquet
Year after year, the International Banquet is a multi-sensory campus favorite. The colors of flags and traditional costumes draw the eye. The smell and taste of hand-made food from students' family recipes both whet and satisfy appetites. And shared handshakes and hugs between kids whose homelands are miles, and even oceans apart, build life-long friendships. "Being at Pan Am is like being in many places at once," says senior Eulalia Velazquez. "You learn so much about other cultures, and people who are different from you become your family."

On September 29, students, staff, and, for the second year in a row, our Board of Trustees, gathered for this annual event. The evening featured student performances of songs, poem readings, and dances from their home countries; a slide show highlighting facts about each of the 9 countries represented this year; decorations by the sophomore class; and, of course, the awesome food.

New Director of Spiritual Life to be Ordained on Campus
Pastor TM and student"We are pleased to announce that Mission Presbytery has approved the ordination of Rebekah Tucker-Motley, our new Director of Spiritual Life," PPAS President Rev. Dr. Doug Dalglish proclaims. Pastor T-M, as she is known on campus, has chosen to be ordained and installed in Morris Chapel. The ordination ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, November 26, at 2:00 p.m., and this is the fist time that PPAS has hosted this type of ceremony. Students, staff, and faculty are just as excited about the event as is Pastor T-M.

Pastor TM in classroom
Since arriving on campus in July with her husband, Cameron, and three sons, Lee (age 4), and twins Isaac and Charlie (9-months-old), Pastor T-M has immersed herself into meeting and developing relationships with our students. Her work engages her with the Campus Ministry Council, Praise Band, and the classes that she teaches - Bible Survey and Junior and Senior Seminars. When asked about her new role, Pastor T-M responded, "My favorite thing is how willing the students are to try new things. They are tremendously talented and eager to learn. So we are learning and growing together."
Regional Champs Take Second in State
Watching Live Stream For the second year in a row, PPAS' boys soccer had an outstanding season. They won District and Regionals, and advanced through the playoffs all the way to the State Championship match. Back home on campus, everyone watched via live-stream, and supported their classmates. The 2017 Finals featured the same two teams as did 2016 - PPAS Eagles vs. Dallas International. Our boys played with heart, and fought hard, but came up short in the end.
State Soccer 10.20.17
The entire Pan Am family is incredibly proud of our boys soccer team. Coach Juan Plascencia and the players operate with a selfless sense of team that is not only admirable, but evident in the way that they play. As a matter of fact, the announcers for the game commented on several occasions about the remarkable talent and sportsmanship that they displayed. With a number of young players on the team, the Eagles will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
Fall Festival Brings Community to PPAS
Fall Festival Selfie
On Friday, October 20, Kingsville and surrounding community folk, and families of our students joined us on campus for our 12th annual Fall Festival. Students - dressed in costume, of course - played host by not only welcoming and interacting with visitors, but also by working at the different game and food booths.

In addition to being lots of fun, Fall Festival is a fundraiser that benefits numerous student organizations.  This year's event featured hay rides, moon jumps, a dunking booth, a silent auction, bingo, and the newest attraction - a climbing wall! Those who live and work on the Pan Am campus and visitors alike are already looking forward to next year!

Homecoming 2017: American High School Culture, Pan Am Style
Pep Rally 10.18.17What would a high school fall semester be without Homecoming? Thanks to our hard-working cheerleaders and their sponsor, Mrs. Yvonne Garza, Pan Am students don't miss out on this staple American experience for kids grades 9-12. October 18th was the perfect day for PPAS' annual Homecoming celebration, complete with a pep rally and a bonfire. Eagle Cheerleaders performed a dance and led the students in a spirit competition, and athletes from volleyball, cross-country, and boys' soccer were recognized. The juniors won the spirit competition for the second year in a row, and for the crowing moment, the 2017 Homecoming Court was announced.
