December 2017
GIVE THE GIFT OF SCIENCE
At the Science Center, we are committed to providing programs for children and families, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year.  Last year, over 6,000 children and 172 teachers from 56 local schools participated in STEM education at the Science Center. Without you, we could not have achieved so much. Next year, we'd like to do even more, especially for low-to-moderate income students attending Pinellas County Schools.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support the work of the Science Center.  No donation is too small and any amount will be greatly appreciated.  All funds received will go directly to support STEM education for children and families in the local area.

What better way to celebrate the holidays than to make a positive difference in the life of a child.

WINTER BLAST AT THE SCIENCE CENTER

Join us for a Winter Blast at the Science Center.  Camp is scheduled during winter break on December 26th - 29th, 2017 and January 2nd - 5th, 2018 for Grades K-3 and 4-6. Here are a few of the frosty activities planned:
  • Learn how the Inuit Tribe build igloos and then build your own.
  • Winter storms - we will make our own in a jar.
  • All about Sled Dogs! (and some of the other "cool animals" in the north).
  • The science of the cube (ice cube, that is).
  • S'mores and the power of the sun.
We hope to see you as we take a mittens-on voyage into the science of winter.  Register online at the www.sciencecenterofpinellas.org
