National Philanthropy Day Honoring Taylor Franklin
Over 650 community leaders, donors, fundraisers, and friends attended the National Philanthropy Day celebration. Congratulations to our President and Chief Operating Officer, Taylor Franklin on his
Outstanding Emerging Philanthropist award. This award was given for the second time to recognize an individual 45 years of age or younger for exceptional generosity and civic responsibility, as demonstrated through financial contributions and volunteerism to charitable organizations within Hampton Roads. Philanthropy has been instilled in Taylor Franklin since childhood. Taylor's volunteerism and leadership has impacted both the business and non profit sectors in Hampton Roads.

A resident recently sent an email to our customer service team and said, "I'm a new tenant residing in Whispering Oaks Apartments, I just wanted to say that the Manager and her assistant, in the rental office are two of the most professional, caring and very intelligent young ladies. They welcomed by son and I with open arms since day one when I walked on the property, knowing about my situation, they were very helpful, and considerate, and got us in the unit in a timely manner. Just want to say thank you to the ladies for being so professional."

The Pointe at Pickett Farms Spreads Holiday Cheer
During this holiday season,
The Pointe at Pickett Farms team in Norfolk is participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate children in the community. Aurelia Vaughan said, "We are working really hard to make sure every child has a very Merry Christmas".

Operation Santa Paws at Spring Water
Spring Water is asking for support to the
Virginia Beach SPCA this holiday. Be a "Santa Paws" and bring all donations to the leasing office by December 21st. They are looking for leashes & collars, sealed pet food, durable chew toys, dog/cat treats, towels, blankets, pet beds, laundry detergent, bleach, dish soap, hand sanitizer, crates and pet carriers.

Forrest was nominated by his manager, LaToya Jones, and Portfolio Manager, Margaret Reinhardt, for his eagerness to train and learn as much as he can in the maintenance field. He also recently won 3rd place in a "Maintenance Mania" competition.
Kathy Panarella, Community Manager, Aquia Fifteen
Kathy was nominated by Craig Dorler from Accounting team for her quick problem solving skills and attention to detail. Craig was impressed by her ability to act on her feet and quickly solve an issue that arose. He also wrote, "She great to work with because any request I might have, she responds immediately. Working together, we solve any issues or discrepancies very quickly." Matt McBroom, also wrote: "Kathy has done a tremendous job taking over as the new CM at Aquia15. She started with us 2 years ago at Shorehaven and since beginning her career with us; she has met every challenge encountered with a positive attitude and smile on her face. She provides suggestions for conflicts and has truly thrived with an understanding of tax credit and the importance of meeting such deadlines. Kathy is the type of employee that owns up to any mistakes small or large, and reaches out for training if unsure. She has done a fantastic job at running Shorehaven and now Aquia and its my pleasure to see her win, Be The Solution.
Avery Rouse, Maintenance Supervisor, Banyan Grove
Avery was nominated by his manager, Jessie Sholar, for his strong work ethic, focus, and desire to constantly learn. While quickly and efficently completing work orders and turns, Avery sets the bar extremely high and never skips a beat. He takes pride in ensuring that Banyan Grove is presented in the best light at all times. Jesse writes: Avery is willing to help his team members and residents any way he can without hesitation. Avery is a great role model for his team and TFJG".

Wreaths Across America will be at the Arlington National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
