Winter 2018 newsletter

The winter 2018 newsletter is in the mail to Bloomfield Township residents. Resident only registration begins at 12:01 AM on November 3rd, non-resident registration  begins on November 18th. In this newsletter you will find our popular fitness classes like cardio Cardio Conditioning 3C's, Zumba, Cardio Strength & Balance 1 & 2, Aqua Interval, Small Group Personal Training, and NEW fitness classes like Aqua Burn, Aquacise,Aqua Fit & Strong, HIIT Bursts, Cardio Stretch Blast, and Gentle Flow Yoga. You can try these classes out for FREE during   Fitness Week January 2-6 sponsored by Woodward Hills.
 
Challenge yourself in 2018! Join us for our  2nd Annual Indoor Triathlon on Friday, February 23rd. Cycle (Cycle/Nustep) - Run (Treadmill/Track/Wheelchair) - Swim (Swim/Walk/water rower) 15 minutes each.  All levels are welcome and encouraged to participate.  Take advantage of our early-bird registration discounted fee, $20 resident/$25 non-resident through January 5, 2018. Informational Meetings during Fitness Week on January 3rd, 10:00 am or 5:00 pm.  Free!  Please pre-register.

BTSS has several great presentations this winter; Time Lapsed Detroit Images, Return to Luxury - The Book Cadillac, Dessert & the DIA Picturing Music, Historical Botsford Inn, Personal Stories: the Henry Ford, health presentations and many more.
 
Check out our wide variety of daytrips and leave the driving to us.  Enjoy trips to the DSO and Meadowbrook performances to unique venues, adventures in dining to museum tours, there's something for everyone.  Go with a friend or meet a new one on the trip, BTSS day trips are a wonderful way to spend the day!

Motawi Tileworks

Motawi Tileworks was founded by Nawal Motawi  in 1992. The company handcrafts art tiles in its Ann Arbor studio. These tiles are known for their American designs, inspired by works of the Arts and Crafts Movement, and include such subjects as nature, art and architecture. Followed by lunch on your own at Metzger's German Restaurant.             
 
Adventures in Dining - Red Dunn Kitchen

This new restaurant is elegant but not quite fine dining.  Focusing on hardier portions of "Detroit-style" American cuisine. Dishes are seasonal and made from scratch, using local produce when possible. Lunch on your own.          
 
Chaldean Cultural Center Tour

The Chaldean Cultural Center celebrates and explores the extraordinary history, arts, traditions and contributions of the Chaldean people from ancient times to the present.  At its heart is an exhibition that takes artifacts both ancient and modern and evocative environments to tell a distinctive and powerful story. Bronners Shopping & Silent Night Memorial Chapel

From humble beginnings in 1945, Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland has grown to become the world's largest Christmas store. Silent Night Chapel is a replica of the original chapel in Oberndorf/Salzburg, Austria, which marks the site where "Silent Night" was first sung on Christmas Eve in 1818.  Come and shop till you drop for all your holiday goodies. Followed by lunch on your own at Old Christmas Station Restaurant.

The Senior Service Millage is one half of one percent of a BT Tax Dollar and provides only 50% of the BTSS budget. We must generate approximately $750,000 annually to maintain our current level of services.
 
You can help support BTSS in offering services like Meals on Wheels, our Adult Day Service the Friendship Club and medical transportation.
