Live Coverage from the 101st PGA Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas

The PGA of America's 101st Annual Meeting, Nov. 1-3, will focus on the PGA Member and growing the game of golf. Delegates are gathered at the Hilton Austin to plan the path for the Association's future. Beginning at 8 a.m. today, Thursday, PGA Members can log-in and watch live coverage of today's Opening Session.

Live coverage is also available of the PGA Hall of Fame Ceremonies tonight beginning at 7:15 p.m. CT.

Pfingston Honored at 2017 PGA National Award Winner Ceremony in Austin

Mark Pfingston, PGA, The Golf Club at Bear Dance, received the 2017 PGA National Merchandiser of the Year Award last night at the ceremony in Austin, Texas. 

"The 2017 class of national award recipients were all truly deserving of this recognition, having distinguished themselves as inspirational leaders, mentors, and pioneers among their peers," said PGA President Paul Levy. "The PGA of America proudly recognizes them for their unwavering commitment to represent the PGA Professional and the game of golf at the highest of levels."

PGA and LPGA members, golf buyers and industry professionals can now register to attend the 65th PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 23-26, 2018, in Orlando. Exhibitor and media registration will open later this month.

Charlotte, Jim Hillary Win in JGAC Parent/Child Tournament

Like many parents of talented junior golfers, Jim Hillary often finds himself on the golf course in a passive role, largely limited to providing moral support as a spectator. But this weekend, for a change, Hillary had the chance to play an active role while still cheering on daughter Charlotte, one of the top girls players in the state. The result was a win-win for the Hillarys. Besides father and daughter getting to enjoy each other's company on a glorious late-October day at Indian Tree Golf Club in Arvada, the Englewood residents got the bonus of winning the 14-18 age division of the inaugural Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado's Parent/Child Tournament on Sunday.

Coloradans Whitney, Knous Qualify for PGA Tour's Shriners Hospitals Tournament

Monday turned out to be a very good day for a couple of Colorado golfers as they qualified for this week's PGA Tour event, the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas. Tom Whitney of Fort Collins won the qualifier shooting a 63 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., while Jim Knous of Englewood also earned one of the four qualifying spots by posting a 65. Read the story here.

Also a winner was Cole Nygren of Longmont who won the inaugural Major Series of Putting while competing against a field that featured PGA Tour veterans Brad Faxon, John Cook, Tommy Armour III and Colt Knost.  Read the story here.
Coloradan Clark Posts Best PGA Tour Finish with 17th-Place Showing in Sanderson Farms Championship

A couple of days before trying to take the next step in the Web.com Tour Q-school process, Wyndham Clark of Highlands Ranch posted the best finish of his young PGA Tour career. Clark, who won the Pac-12 individual title last spring at Boulder Country Club, placed 17th and earned $68,800 Sunday in the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he shared the lead after Round 1.

Coloradan Clark Fires 66 to Lead Web.com Q-School Tourney; Arp, Edens also Shoot in the 60s

Three Coloradans were quick off the mark on Tuesday, shooting in the 60s in the first round of a Web.com Tour Q-School Tournament. In the Second Stage Q-School event in Murrieta, Calif., just 14 of the 76 competitors broke 70 on Tuesday and three of those were from Colorado. Wyndham Clark of Highlands Ranch, Riley Arp of Fort Collins and Parker Edens of Greeley made the list.

As of this morning, back-to-back 66s give Clark a 3-shot lead at the second stage of Q-school.

Major Project to Commence this Week at Denver's City Park Golf Course

City Park Golf Course is now closed for 18 months. Starting Nov. 1, crews began digging ditches and pulling up trees as part of a hotly-debated $43 million flood control project.

The renovation and redesign project
being led by iCon Golf Studio and Hale Irwin Golf Design will change the layout of the course, and a new clubhouse in the center of the property will affect the order in which holes are played.

USGA Nominates Nick Price to Executive Committee
