HIGHCLERE CASTLE
Foundation and Highclere Castle Partner to Present Period-Themed Cigar
Herbert and Nicholas Melillo of Foundation Cigar Co. created Highclere Castle and based it on the idea of creating an early 1900's style of cigar, the kind that would have been enjoyed by the ancestors of George Herbert, the 8th Earl of Carnarvon and current owner of Highclere Castle and its surrounding campus.
The Highclere Castle Cigar is hand rolled in Estelí, Nicaragua, using a Connecticut Shade wrapper, and both Criollo and Corojo from the volcanic soils of Jalapa and the island of Ometepe. The binder is made from Mata Fina, a dark tobacco from Brazil. The blend is finalized with an exclusive hybrid seed the company has named Nicadán. The resulting smoke is exceptionally creamy and elegant, with notes of pepper, citrus, leather and fireplace. Five sizes, all of which are produced at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua.

2018 YEAR OF THE DOG
While it isn't technically the Year of the Dog yet (beginning on February 16, 2018), Davidoff is off to an early start, releasing the next cigar in their annual "Zodiac Series" with enough time for enthusiasts to have their cigars in hand at the start of the Chinese New Year.
The Davidoff Limited Edition 2018 Year of the Dog is a 7 x 50 Churchill which uses an Ecuadorian Habano Claro wrapper, a Dominican San Vicente Seco binder and four fillers: Dominican Piloto Seco and Viso, San Vicente Ligero and Seco and Visos from Estelí, Nicaragua.

HAMLET 25th YEAR
The Hamlet 25th Year,

Hamlet Paredes, is a milder offering than Tabaquero, his first release.
To achieve this milder blend, Paredes selected an Ecuadoran habano wrapper, which gets paired with a broadleaf binder from Pennsylvania and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras to create what the company calls a medium-bodied smoke with notes of cedar and toast. The cigar is made at Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A. (TAVICUSA), the Nicaraguan factory co-owned by Patel and Amilcar Perez Castro.
