A message from Superintendent Dutton

Dear Friends,

I am so proud of what The Academies has accomplished in such a short period of time. As we approach the midway point in our sixth year at Sycamore Valley and the first year of Blue Oak Academy, I am grateful for the hard work and support that has brought us to where we are today!

Our end-of-year giving campaign is underway and we are asking all of our friends and families to contribute to our Scholar Fund. Keep your eye out for our mailer, or click the donate button at the bottom of this email.

Thank you for helping us build our programs. Our schools would not be the successful institutions they are without your support.

With gratitude,

Ruth A. Dutton

SVA Spelling Bee

Can you spell parenthetical?  What about labyrinthine?  Methuselah? Merengue?  Those were just some of the words students spelled CORRECTLY in SVA's Annual School Spelling Bee on Wednesday.  Twenty-four fourth through eighth graders competed for two spots to represent Sycamore Valley Academy at the Tulare County Spelling Championship on February 21, 2018.

After eight rounds of words, seventh grader Harper Dutton emerged as this year's Spelling Champion, correctly spelling "acacias" as the final word of the competition.  Also representing SVA at the TCOE Championship will be
Aanchal  Singh.  The two alternates are Lucy Maitland-Lewis and Galilea Hernandez-Diaz.

Congratulations to all of the students who participated this year!
