The "Slow Carbs" in Grain Berry ONYX Help to Control Your Weight
Carbs are categorized based on how quickly they are broken down in the body; ranging from simple carbs like sugars that are very quickly metabolized, to complex carbs like insoluble fiber that pass through the body without being digested.
Many processed foods are loaded with simple carbs, and they are the most likely culprits in the growing "Diabesity" crisis. Simply put, we eat too much sugar, and not enough Good Carbs.
Whole Grains are considered one of the best sources of good carbs, and king among whole grains is Grain Berry Onyx, a unique variety of sorghum that is the key ingredient in all Grain Berry cereals and baking mixes. Onyx has a better carbohydrate profile than other whole grains.
Onyx not only has the right kind of carbs, but most uniquely; it is one of the best sources of antioxidants. The antioxidants in Onyx not only neutralize the ravages of free radicals, but they also bind with starches and cause them to digest more slowly.
The result: the "Slow Carbs" in Onyx are metabolized more slowly than other whole grains, giving you sustained energy and helping you maintain your desired weight.
