Frittata for 500

Frittata for 500
640 eggs
400 cups of assorted vegetables
25 pounds of cheese
100 cups of milk
Seasoned with the love and care of our grieving community

As we woke up yesterday and struggled to comprehend the enormity of the tragedy unfolding around us, cooking was the first thing on our minds.

Our dedicated volunteers and staff began to arrive at our kitchen, wanting to do something, anything, to help. We reached out to get information from local shelters, first planning to cook for 170, then 300, then 400, then 500. We scaled and re-scaled recipes and called local grocers, all of whom replied with "YES" to our every ask.

With mass evacuations underway and many staff impacted, it was clear we would be unable to cook and deliver to clients in our meal program this week. We were thankfully able to confirm all staff are safe, but heartbroken to hear that staff, volunteers and clients have all lost homes.

We are deeply grateful to all of the farms, grocers and volunteers who are joining with us to provide comfort and sustenance to our neighbors this week, and to those who've been donating to aid in the effort. We plan to resume cooking for our clients next week.

At this time, we have ample volunteer support. Please follow our Facebook page @CeresCommunityProject to receive updates on our volunteer needs. If you have food you want to donate to the effort, please send an email to saram@ceresproject.org or send us a message via Facebook. Because we've run through most of the food we had on hand for our client meal program, we also appreciate any monetary donations to help us replenish for the weeks ahead. Please include a note in the memo for your online donation.
