From the "Get Out the Vote" Team
You can apply for an absentee ballot until Mon Nov 6 in person at the Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas St, White Plains. The office is open until 8:00pm and is open Sat Nov 4 until 2:00pm. Also, if you missed the registration deadline due to a move, etc., you may be able to vote by affidavit. Call the Board (914-995-5700) to confirm the ID and proof of address you need, then go to your polling place with the correct paperwork on Election Day to vote.

Westchester County has a drop-off facility for items your local sanitation dept cannot accept. T
he Household Material Recovery Facility (H-MRF) in Valhalla accepts
herbicides and pesticides, fluorescent bulbs, unused/expired medicines, refrigerant-containing appliances (e.g., air conditioners), and more. Make appointments at 914-813-5425 or online HERE.

Please remember the upper lot is for congregants who need to be physically near our entrance in order to attend.

Share the Plate for November: Ecumenical Food Pantry
The recipient of half our non-pledge collection during the month of November is the Ecumenical Emergency Food Pantry of White Plains. The pantry was founded in 1979 by CUUC and four other local congregations as a temporary response to individuals with food insecurity, but found that the need never vanished - it just increased. Today the pantry is a massive effort, operating 51 weeks a year supplying nutritious food to about 400 families a month with support from several congregations across faith traditions. CUUC has continuously assisted in this effort with both funds and volunteers including members Vicky Van Wert and Lucille Ross, who worked tirelessly at the pantry for many years.
