Healthcare District Engagement Tour reached 6,310 miles traveled!
Amber King, Vice President of Government Affairs and Sheila Johnston, Vice President of Member Relations & Administration continued their Outreach Tour of Healthcare Districts in November.  This month, the team visited Mark Twain Health Care District in San Andreas.  Amber and Sheila experienced driving through the foothills to meet with the new Executive Director, Randy Smart, M.D., Lin Reed, Board Chair, and Peggy Stout, Board Clerk. We truly enjoyed our discussions learned a lot about the District, the initiatives the Board is undertaking to enhance the communities health and  policy issues that may impact the District.

Our road trip to California's Healthcare Districts has been a great opportunity for the ACHD team to see our Districts in action and meet key players in advancing community health.  We will continue visiting Districts over the next few months; remember to follow our road trip on  Twitter and Facebook .

The Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD) represents Healthcare Districts throughout the state's urban, suburban and rural areas. California is home to 79 Healthcare Districts that play a profound role in responding to the specialized health needs of local communities by providing access to essential health services to tens of millions of Californians while also having direct accountability to the communities that Districts serve. In many areas, Healthcare Districts are the sole source of health, medical and well-being services in their communities.
