November 1st - December 15th

The open enrollment period for the health insurance marketplace is significantly shorter this year - November 1 to December 15, 2017 (it's normally three months). The Trump Administration has also cut funding for advertising and enrollment assistance. Social workers should share this enrollment information with clients, families, friends and communities to bring awareness to the narrow enrollment window.

How to Achieve Work-Life Harmony

If work-life balance isn't realistic, try this instead. Trying to balance everything in our lives just stresses us out more. The key to happiness is more about creating work-life harmony.

Strive for symmetry between your professional and personal lives, advises entrepreneur and speaker Amy Vetter. "[R]esearch continues to find that applying work-life harmony principles in the workplace improves employee productivity, including creative thinking and problem solving," writes Vetter in this three-part method for utilizing this approach.

IPS presents:

CONVERSATION:  DAYDREAMS:
 CONCEALED AND REVEALED IN THERAPY

Everybody daydreams.Daydreams revealed in therapy, however, can be understood as valuable information to understand a patient's personality including character traits, symptoms, and distress. Daydreams are different from nocturnal dreams.

One of the  most important aspects of daydreams is that daydreamers are often concealed in therapy. As a result, daydreams may be missed by the therapist as a way of understanding unconscious material. This conversation will elicit a discussion of daydreams in psychotherapy.
