This Sunday, j oin Khiara Bridges for a conversation about race, poverty, and privacy, and what humanist values require.

In this talk, she will discuss the research that she has conducted with poor mothers and mothers-to-be, focusing on their experiences with state regulation and surveillance of medical care. She hopes to engage the audience in a conversation about what we can do -- as individuals and a community -- to ensure that poor people are treated with the dignity and humanity that they deserve. 

Khiara M. Bridges is a professor of law and professor of an thropology at Boston University.  She is the author of Reproducing Race: An Ethnography of Pregnancy as a Site of Racialization (2011) and The Poverty of Privacy Rights (2017). 1:30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street. Read more here.
