A Message From
2017 FL CCIM Chapter President
Scott Lloyd CCIM, RPA

Chapter Gives & Grows - Thanks to Young, Energetic, Diverse Membership

As my role as your President of the   Florida CCIM Chapter winds down, please allow me to share some thoughts and ideas:

First, I hate hurricanes.

Second, I am very proud of our CCIM family for  raising close to $30K to bring high capacity generators to our CCIMs in Puerto Rico. Donations have rolled in from Florida members. Please know that every District President agreed to contribute without batting an eye. Let's hope it helps them in a small way.

Third, we have injected our incoming leadership with some much-needed youth! The average age of our Officers in 2018 will be 20 years younger than that of the Officers of just 2 years ago. Look out for these whipper-snappers. They are smart, passionate and bringing many great ideas.

Florida Chapter Members Earn Prestigious CCIM Designation

Eight (8) members of the Florida Chapter have earned the prestigious CCIM designation through their experience and professional education.

The group was honored at the pinning ceremony at The CCIM Global Commercial Real Estate Conference held in Toronto, Oct. 15-16, 2017 and afterwards at a special dinner in their honor hosted by the Florida Chapter Leadership.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:
Recognizing the Incredible Britney Mroczkowski

What's the Secret to this Young Designee's Zest for Life?
Even Institute Leaders Want to Know

Looking for a Florida Chapter CCIM to inspire you? Want to meet an accomplished designee who takes on challenges on a world-class level? Want to be surprised about how much one person can do? That is easy - meet Britney Mroczkowski!

The CCIM Institute, who wanted her to share the recipe to her success, recently interviewed this 28-year-old powerhouse. The resulting interview should be insightful. Consider that in less than three decades this Tampa Bay-area native has accomplished the following:
  • World Traveler - having already visited 27 countries, including traveling to Cuba solo earlier this year and showing few signs of slowing down;
  • Awarded CCIM Designation in 2015 while 26 years old after taking CCIM core classes on-line;
  • Serving as 2017 President of the Florida CCIM Chapter's West Coast District;
  • Former Competitive Equestrian, from 1998 to 2008 that resulted in earning National Champion, High Point Equestrian in Hunter Hack for the American Quarter Horse Youth Association, 2007 and World Champion Equestrian in Equitation Over Fences at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show, 2005;
  • Service in Student Senate while attending Florida State University including stint as Treasurer as well as a host of other positions;
  • Successful Commercial Associate with Colliers International Tampa Bay Florida since 2012.
Britney has earned the respect of her fellow CCIMs, with her West Coast leadership team proud to call her one of their own:

"I've known Britney for about four years and had the pleasure of assisting her as president-elect of the West Coast District in 2017," shares West Coast District Leader Dee Maret. "She has been a great leader for us. She is thoughtful in her decision-making but decisive at the same time. She's not afraid to make the hard call. She is a great friend."

Three Key Chapter Members Step Up and Serve
CCIM Institute

Barbara Monahan, CCIM , has been elected to serve on the CCIM Institute's Executive Committee. One of four members elected, she begins her two year term in January, 2018.

Monahan will be leading the Institute with the help of two other dedicated CCIMs from the Florida Chapter, as two Past Presidents of the Florida CCIM Chapter were also elected to the 2018 Board of Directors.

Randy Krise, CCIM and  Chere Roane, CCIM  are now two of the 16 members of the Board. They will begin their three year term in January 2018. Both Krise, a member of the Southwest District and Roane, a member of the Central District, manage and own their own successful brokerage firms.

Florida CCIM Chapter Successfully Delivers PowerAide To Puerto Rico CCIM Chapter Members

It was a short message, but one filled with hope and gratitude:

Oct. 30, 2017

Dear Scott & Chere,

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!
Today was a day full of emotion and good vibes. It was a pleasure to say hello to all our fellow Puerto Rico CCIMs and bring some comfort and hope thanks to your incredible gift. Attached some pics that I'm sure will bring a big smile to your faces. Please share them with the Florida Chapter membership and let them know that we're honored, humbled and grateful and will never forget this amazing gesture.

All the best,

Luis Rafael González, CCIM, CLS, CRX
President of Puerto Rico CCIM Chapter

The Florida CCIM Chapter launched "Operation PowerAide" to assist fellow Puerto Rico CCIMs on September 23.

Just 10 days into the campaign, more than two-thirds of the funds needed had been pledged or donated.

Beginning with a total fundraising goal of $30,000, Florida Chapter leadership was overwhelmed when the CCIM Institute announced a $15,000 contribution to the PowerAide efforts.
