Answering the Call: Educators Driving Wellness Initiatives at UCSF

With 40-60% of practicing physicians reporting burnout nationwide, health professions educators at UCSF are answering the call from our local constituencies and national organizations to make provider well being a central theme in our work. Building Our Scholarly Community: 2016-2017 Class of Teaching Scholars Program Presentations and Recognition 

Each year on the day of their graduation, participants in the UCSF Teaching Scholars Program share project work with the incoming class of Teaching Scholars and the broader UCSF community. At this year's graduation on September 11, division chiefs, department chairs, and deans participated in the celebration honoring this year's graduates and their scholarly projects.

Resources for Education Scholarship

As part of the Faculty Mentoring Lunchtime Series, this session is a presentation by Academy member and CFE Director of Research and Development in Medical Education, Patricia O'Sullivan, EdD. The lunchtime series will discuss topics such as finding resources for education and scholarship, career development in MedEd research and scholarship, and what is unique about developing and leading faculty development programs.

CFE returns with another season of popular returning and new workshops. Teach for UCSF Certificate Program participants and others interested in registering for courses can view a filterable calendar by category and campus.

UCSF Medical Education Event: CMC Poster Symposium
Clinical Microsystems Clerkship Health Systems Improvement Poster Symposium

Millberry Union Golden Gate & City Lights Rooms (Parnassus)

This symposium is an opportunity for students from the inaugural class of the Bridges curriculum to present posters of the systems improvement work they have been doing in clinical sites from August 2016 - September 2017. Please join us to learn more about the work UCSF medical students have been doing in the Clinical Microsystems Clerkship and to celebrate the impact that early learners can have on improving quality, safety, and the patient experience. A small number of students will give brief oral presentations of their work and share lessons learned.
