Our speaker for the parents, Mary Matestic, was moved by watching families look up Scripture passages together during the Family Activity. She said she "witnessed a miracle" when she saw children re-telling Bible stories.

From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal
Dear Parents,
In light of the events that took place in Las Vegas this past week, I have included some resources for you (see Did You Know? section) to help your child come to terms with this and other tragedies. Our school has been praying for the victims and their families of this horrific event.
Special thanks to the
Ascher Family Dairyland Energy Solutions for their matching $500 grant to the St. Anthony Athletics program. Our volleyball program is well underway for grades 5-8. Basketball will begin in early November. Next year we will be in need of several members to serve on our Athletic board. Please consider joining us on the 1st Wednesday of every month for our meetings. Help us continue the fine athletic tradition we have here!
This week is a short week for students - not so for our teachers! They will be spending those two days at in-services. Our Pre-K teachers will be meeting with other Pre-K teachers from our districts to discuss curriculum. The rest of the teachers will be at a Science Curriculum In-service or a Learning Support In-service on Maximizing Personalized Learning.
On Friday, all staff will be at school working on goal-setting and the new teacher evaluation framework as directed by the diocese.
Finally, best of luck to our
8th graders competing in the Marquette Fall Math Meet next weekend!
Blessings, especially to those of you traveling over the long weekend.
Mrs. Ellen Knippel

Persevere in Prayer
Please pray for the unborn.
"Only with prayer - prayer that storms the heavens for justice and mercy, prayer that cleanses our hearts and souls - will the culture of death that surrounds us today be replaced with a culture of life."
-Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities,
U.S. Catholic Bishops
Thank you!
A special thanks to school parent
