ATTENTION:  4th & 5th Graders
Starting 9/29, all 4th and 5th graders received a packet of information regarding Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Sales.  This is a fundraiser that provides these students with the opportunity to raise money to help cover the cost of 5th grade camp.  We give each student 2 years to raise the funds if they choose to do so.

Some important details:
  • This is completely optional - it has been a very successful fundraiser for our students but it is not required.
  • All completed packets with money are due to the Stillwater front office NO LATER than Thursday, October 12th.
  • The products will be available for pick up at Stillwater in November  - probably the week before Thanksgiving.  Stay tuned on the exact day & time coming soon.
  • If your student earned money from last year and/or your student had money carried over from an older sibling,  we have tracked that amount and it will be applied towards the camp amount of $195.

Skippers starts next week!
Next week, our Jump Roping Club with Mr. H starts !

If your 2nd thru 5th grader has not signed up, it is not too late!  We will take registration forms and money for shirts & ropes up through October 17th.

  • 2nd & 3rd Graders start Wednesday, October 18 from 3:45 - 4:45.

Two valuable classes available to you sponsored by the District!
1)  Sibshops provides peer support, guidance, and
information to typically-developing siblings of kids with
special needs in a lively, recreational setting. Open to
children in K-5th grade, Encompass Sibshops are run by Encompass staff and older siblings of special needs
kids.
Recognizing that being a brother or sister of a person
with special needs has unique ups and downs, Sibshops
offers a variety of fun activities and great opportunities
to celebrate their contributions and talk with peers who
"get it."

2)  Presented by Snoqualmie Valley PTSA Council and Snoqualmie Valley Community Network :  Toxic Stress and the Pressure to Succeed.  October 11th @ 7 pm at the Riverview School District Building.

In this lecture, Dr. Kastner will focus on what parents can do to enhance their children's resilience, social and emotional competence, and healthy resistance to stress. By understanding how much stress kids experience, parents are able to help their children with coping strategies and wise decision-making. The
good news is that by making family health a priority, parents will build skills for improving their own well-being and their children's.
