Wreath

The Children's Library now has a Random Acts of Kindness jar.  Kids and adults can pull a RAK idea from the jar and try to complete it. Each completed RAK earns kids a ribbon to tie onto our kindness wreath that will hang in the Children's Library.

Ms. Bixby_s Last Day
Miss Meg recommends Ms. Bixby's Last Day by John David Anderson

A tender, coming-of-age-story about three young middle school boys - Topher, Brand and Steve, and their exceptional, one-of-a-kind teacher, Ms. Bixby. Each of the boys has heartache and struggle in their homes but through Ms. Bixby's special ways, she is able to make each of them understand their worth.  When Ms. Bixby becomes suddenly very ill, the boys hatch a daring plan to let her know what she means to them. On a mission to give her a special and memorable "last day," their journey riddled with challenges and not quite successful, they are each able to discover an inner courage they didn't know they had.

Recommended ages 8 -12
