Can music change a park?

The Levitt Foundation believes it can!

"The Levitt Foundation exists to strengthen the social fabric of America. We empower communities to transform neglected outdoor spaces into welcoming destinations where the power of free, live music brings people together and invigorates community life."

Here is our chance to put the foundation to the test.
The California Center for the Arts, Escondido has submitted a grant to the Levitt Foundation. The grant is part of a matching campaign that would sponsor ten summer concerts in Grape Day Park, free to the public.

But you must vote!

This is a vote that we can all agree on. Live music is good. Free live music is even better. And the best way to energize an outdoor space is to bring positive activity through the gathering of people for a common good.  Voting is open from Wednesday, November 1 through Monday, November 20.  The best part is you only get to vote once...so share this opportunity with everyone you know and ask them to vote as well.

What is Placemaking?

"Places are alive. Places are where people want to live, work and play. Where people simply want to be-again and again. Places have character, and they're a part of our traditions and memories. In contrast, spaces focus more on the physicality of a location-a point on a map that is less about people and more about its geography. Placemaking is about turning spaces into places by attracting a wide variety of people who just can't wait to return."

Sincerely,
