Thank you to The Allstate Foundation

We received a $500 donation from The Allstate Helping Hands program honoring a tutor's volunteer service. This is a generous donation recognizing volunteer service, and only required a short application process.

Does your employer offer a similar program? If they do, we would be happy to provide the information required to complete the request.

Gail Borden Library - ESL Resources

The library's English Language Learner resources are growing. Show your learner the ELL area near the Literacy Connection office & conference rooms. Playaway/Launch Pads devices, loaded with specific ESL material, and language games including Scrabble, Boggle, Scattegories, and Taboo are available to use during your tutoring session (no check out required). You can check them out with a library card for seven days.
If you use these materials, let us know & provide feedback when you turn in your hours.

The display stand  near the ELL area will feature materials on various books for language learning. You can check these out anytime.

A new stand-up computer station is dedicated the www.helloenglish.org website. Show your learners how to access the language learning websites using this computer, and then they can use the sites from any location, including their smart phone, for more practice.

Would you help spread the word about our need for tutors?
80
Adults Remain On Our Wait List

There are  80 potential learners currently on our waiting list. These learners need to be tested before they can enter the program, and are not ready to be matched.

We do everything we can to match our tutors and learners as fast as possible. We must find a pair that has the same availability , and this often slows down the process.

If you are currently waiting for a learner, we are working on setting up a match meeting as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

If you have specific questions please contact Jody.
