New Fund Supports the Care of Homeless Animals

Introducing the Tails Humane Society Fund, created to provide unrestricted financial support to Tails Humane Society to fulfill their mission and purpose, building a compassionate community through the care of companion animals.

Helping Today...Shaping Tomorrow

Thanks to donor generosity at the Community Foundation, a $2,000 grant to the Food Security Council enabled the purchase of 54 collapsible shopping carts and 200 reusable shopping bags. Distribution of the carts and bags went to nine local food pantries from Sandwich all the way to Kirkland.

Opportunity Through Internships

Started in 2014, this internship program provides opportunity for NIU undergraduate students to gain experience with DCNP-member organizations. To date, we've coordinated internships for 107 students at 40 different organizations with more than 12,840 combined service hours in our local communities.

Grants Available for Nonprofits Who Serve the Underserved

Promise Grants (Beca Promesa) benefit nonprofits serving immigrants, minorities, and literacy needs. Grant applications are now being accepted through November 11.
