Principal Notes

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your support of our Bake Sale for Puerto Rico today.  As of this morning we'd raised $1275.  I am proud of our staff who stepped up to bake all of their goodies this weekend.  We are grateful to have such enthusiastic people who work here who are always willing to jump in and help out.

This Friday is the first of two Dollar Dress Days in support of our 8th grade DC trip.  This trip  is a wonderful opportunity for our students to travel and learn about our country's government and about their civic responsibility.  Each year we hold two Dollar Dress Days to help our 8th grade class with the cost of this trip.

All of our Dollar Dress Days are planned a year in advance.  They support the following charities;

Bridge of Life School in Cambodia
This school was founded by alumni Eddie Roohan and it teaches English and work skills to Cambodians.

Pregnancy Help Center
The Pregnancy Help Center provides support for moms and babies.

Assisting Children Ministry
This is a ministry of our parish that provides food and other necessary items to children in the Pasadena and Los Angeles area as well as families in the Baja Mexico area.

PTO NEWS
PTO "BETTER TOGETHER"
We can't believe that September has come and gone! With October comes the anticipation of Fall Fest.  Kimberly Crowley and her team are hard at work getting ready for the big day on October 21st. We hope everyone received and reviewed the Fall Fest Sponsorship information in last week's newsletter - it is through your Sponsorship support that the PTO is able to provide great programs and assist the school with meeting our children's needs.   Every level of donation makes a difference!
We would like to acknowledge the following people for their time, talent and support since we've been back to school:
  • All of our parents who signed up to help out with the many various PTO Committees and Programs at Meet the Teacher
  • The New Family Mentor Chairs, Nicole Anido & Kelly Paulus, for their lovely welcome to our new families
  • Ann and Mark Kennedy for continuing to provide coffee for our events
  • Our Traffic team, led by John Casci and DJ Saltarelli, for keeping our children safe and the traffic flowing every morning
  • Michelle Mapp who has been super busy with Program Planning.  Last week her team hosted the Lego Batman movie night & this week they sponsored the special viewing of Screenagers
We look forward to seeing you all at Fall Fest on October 21!
