Alexis DuFresne
Senior Recruitment Consultant, Whitney Partners

Alexis DuFresne is a senior recruitment consultant for the asset management community with a focus on front office roles. Her work spans across single mandated searches of all levels, to multi-hire organizational consulting and team build outs on behalf of managers seeking to boost their sales and client retention capabilities. Ms. DuFresne's background as a former hedge fund marketer provides her with a thorough and technical understanding of the space, increases her ability to connect with both clients and candidates, and allows her to leverage her deep network of allocators, marketers, and managers. 

Additionally, Ms. DuFresne is an active and passionate volunteer at New York Cares, and an advocate of epilepsy awareness, as well as a committee member for Help For Children.

Beth Rustin
Founding Partner, Jamesbeck Global Partners

Beth is pleased to be a founding partner of Jamesbeck Global Partners. She began her search career in 1995 with The Whitney Group, where she built and led the firm’s investment management practice. Prior to that, she spent seven years working with money managers at Institutional Investor Conferences as the Head of Sales for the company’s membership organizations. She started her career with Chemical Bank in New York, where she was an analyst in corporate finance. Beth received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, from the University of Vermont. 

A big believer in leaving a positive mark on the world, Beth constantly tells her two daughters about the importance of giving back. As such, she is engaged with a number of charitable organizations and serves as a Trustee on the Boards of Central Synagogue and The Educational Alliance. If you can’t find Beth in the office or enjoying what her beloved New York City has to offer, you will find her in the front row at SoulCycle.

Laurie Thompson
Principal, Heidrick & Struggles

Laurie Thompson is a principal within the global Financial Services Practice specializing in investment management. 

With 12 years of executive search experience, Laurie conducts mid to senior level searches for traditional and alternative investment management clients. She has successfully placed professionals in senior leadership positions, as well as within investments (CIO, strategy heads, portfolio managers, analysts, product development) and distribution (marketing, sales, client services and investor relations). 

Representative clients include single and multi strategy hedge funds, endowments, foundations, family offices, private equity, real estate, hedge fund of funds and traditional asset management firms. 

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles in 2002, Laurie worked in fundraising for Big Brothers Big Sisters and for two boutique executive search firms focused on investment banking, equity research and capital markets. 

Laurie has been an active volunteer and fundraiser with the New York chapter of Inner City Outings, the youth outreach program of the Sierra Club, since 2000. 

Education: 
Laurie received an MA from Ball State University and a BS from SUNY Buffalo.
