“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”

Mark 8:29
December 3, 2017
Chaplain's Corner
This past week in Chapel, we journeyed through the well-known passage about Jesus walking on the water found in Mark 8:27-30.

As you are in your homes, in your cars, and around the table this upcoming week, read the following passage and discuss the following questions:

[READ MARK 8:27-30]

  • “What are some examples of how big an impact the life of Jesus had on human history?”

  • “Why is the most significant question in all of human history, ‘Who was/is Jesus?’?”

  • “Why is it important to know how other people answer the ‘Who was/is Jesus?’ question?”

  • “At the very least, Jesus is often viewed as a good teacher…at most, Jesus is often viewed as a religious figure who may have Divine connections. Why can Jesus not simply be viewed as a just a good teacher? Why can Jesus not simply be viewed as just a religious leader?”

  • “Why is the most important personal question, ‘Who is Jesus to you?’?”

  • “‘The Christ’ literally means Messiah, Deliverer, and/or Savior. If Jesus is the Christ, what does that tell us about our greatest need?

  • “How can I pray for you?”
