Hi there!
It's Winter Week 3 and it's the week before Thanksgiving! A few really important reminders to get out of the way first:
* Next week is the first off-week. Thanksgiving Deliveries Only-- no shares. *
* Thanksgiving Pre-Order closes this Friday, November 17th.*
We might have some extra turkeys for sale, but if you want to guarantee your order please do so before Friday.
, or fill out a paper form at your stop.
* If you need extras for Thanksgiving (eggs, butter, sausage, milk, etc.), place a Special Order today & pick it up this week.*
There will be
no Special Ordering next week for Thanksgiving deliveries. We will be bringing lots of pantry staples for a la carte purchase on the trucks next week, but if you really need something for Thanksgiving, order it today and get it at your Winter Stop this week.
Okay-- back to the bag! Thanksgiving is the Foodie's Superbowl, so we know you all are up to your ears in food prep. We planned this bag with that in mind, so we're having a pizza bag for a quick weeknight dinner.

If this is your first year hosting Thanksgiving, we've got your back:
- If you are looking for some more practical cooking tips, follow Ohio City Provisions on Facebook and check out their Thanksgiving Prep series they're posting this week-- all the details on brining, trussing & roasting your turkey.
And if you still need to order, our pre-order is open online through this Friday--

This week, all the bags will get a two-pack of our fresh pizza dough balls. If you've never made pizza on your own or with our dough,
click here for a tutorial. You'll also get some tomato sauce, cheese (options listed at your stop) and a 4-pack of Beef & Pork Andouille Sausage links for toppings. Vegetarians, you'll get a nice spicy topping option, too-- a pint of our pickled peppers as well as a dozen eggs (ever tried
eggs on a pizza? Delicious!) All the bags will also have a head of lettuce, a bunch of kale, a quart of grape cider, one butternut squash, leeks, fresh pears, and some frozen tomatoes and corn.
Now is a good time to start making some dishes to freeze and reheat for Thanksgiving: most soups, casseroles and even desserts can be made way ahead of time and frozen. Let them thaw in your fridge overnight before Thanksgiving and reheat all the way through in the oven before serving. A word to the wise-- items with cheese and bread don't freeze and reheat well (think gratins or stuffing) so save those to prep next Wednesday. Here are our Pinterest boards loaded up with
Soups & Stews and
Fall Recipes if you need some ideas.

Next week is the first off-week.
This also means that any Special Orders placed between Tuesday, November 14th at midnight and Tuesday November 28th at midnight will be delivered Wednesday, November 29th - Saturday, December 2nd.
Vacations must be registered by midnight on the Saturday before you take off.
Especially during the Holiday season, we know many people leave town to visit family, get some sun or hit the slopes, and we don't want your fun plans to get in the way of your enjoying our program. So we have set up our
Vacation Policy
, but it only works if you
register your vacations the week before you leave
. That way, we know not to order your food. By the beginning of the share week, we've already planned for this week's deliveries, given our farmers the orders and paid for your food-- so please give us that heads up so we can keep doing it. To schedule a vacation:
- Sign into your account and click "Manage My Subscriptions."
- Make sure you've selected "2017-18 Winter Season" from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the tab "Vacations" to add the weeks you'll be out. It saves automatically once you select the week.
- Or, reply to this email or call 800-861-8582 and let us know, or tell a Greeter at your stop.
If you really can't get there, please first see if you can find a friend or neighbor to grab your bag.
