Carl E. Simcox
. 1929 - 2017.   Retired CW3 Carl E. Simcox passed away peacefully at Clyde Lassen Veterans Nursing Home on November 19, 2017, in St. Augustine, FL, at the age of 88.

Carl is survived by his children, William Simcox and his wife Margaret of Medford, MA, Robert Simcox of Neptune Beach, FL, Carl Simcox Jr of Jacksonville, FL, and Debra Peterson of Pensacola, FL;  his brother, Ralph Simcox of Wadsworth, OH;  his sister, Marlene Moses and her husband Buck Moses of Wadsworth, OH;  nine grandchildren;  and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Ferragamo Simcox of Roxbury, MA;  his parents, Hobson and Helen;  and his brother, Dale Simcox of Wadsworth, OH.

Carl served in the US Navy for 20 years from August 1947-1957 and then again from 1964-1974.   After his retirement he worked as a civilian for the US Navy as the Assistant Athletic Director of Naval Station Mayport.   He was a member of the American Legion Post 316.

A celebration of life was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on December 2, 2017, in Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 Saint Johns Bluff Road N. Jacksonville, FL 32225.

The family would like to thank Clyde Lassen Veterans Nursing Home for their caring services and staff.   Arrangements were under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery, 850 Saint Johns Bluff Road N. Jacksonville, FL 32225.
