Oldcastle Enclosure Solutions Employees Volunteer At Food Bank

Oldcastle Enclosure Solutions employees volunteered at the Houston Food Bank in June to do their part in the fight against hunger in the state of Texas. This corporate initiat ive was spearheaded to aid people without resources, improving their quality of life and creating a hunger-free community.

In addition to making meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the coming week, they cleaned out the hot and cold food storage bins, unloaded milk and ice pallets and packed pallets for food distribution to various locations that provide food for families and children. During their time, they helped provide over 14,000 meals!

Sculpture Gallery gets a renovation worthy of the original

The Philip Johnson's property in New Canaan , Connecticut is known for the iconic Glass House. Over time, its roof began to leak - causing damage to the lighting and heating systems as well as staining the steel skeleton of the building.
Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope donated a new aluminum extrusion system and glass skylighting. This restoration brought the skylight up to contemporary standards "while respecting Johnson's original intent." The OBE skylight system with guttering was used to prevent further leakage.

Stormwater solution put in place for a new community development in California

This new community development in Lake Forest, California will provide single-family and senior housing as well as commercial space and a public park with trails.
The Storm Capture stormwater detention system was installed to mitigate the area's stormwater runoff. It "consists of 320 units that were manufactured in Oldcastle Precast's Perris, California plant. The units create 10 basins, providing a total detention storage volume of 820,886 cubic feet."

Wounded Warriors Benefit From Beach Week

The sound of laughter and water splashing filled the air as wounded soldiers and veterans - along with their families - played on kayaks and paddle boards along Bethany Beach. This fun and stress-free time was just one of several events organized by Operation SEAs the Day, a Delaware-based non-profit organization.

For five years, Operation SEAs the Day has coordinated an annual Warrior Family Beach Week to show appreciation for the service and sacrifice of veterans and soldiers who are recovering from injuries sustained while serving.

This year's event was held September 5th through the 10th, and - with a focus on the entire family - included a variety of activities for all ages. Families had fun participating in therapeutic horseback riding, kayaking, paddle boarding, tennis, boat excursions, golf, a spa day, bonfire, and an evening parade and concert.

The Beach Week lets soldiers and their families relax, have fun, and easily transition back into civilian life. Host families assist the guests during the week, and beach houses are often "donated" to the cause giving each solider and their family a real sense of being on vacation.
