Dear Lake Forest High School Community Member:

One of the best opportunities to be involved in LFHS District 115 is by serving as a Community Representative on one of our Board Committees.  Community members interact with Board Members and Administrators, participate in the important committee work of the district, and provide valuable input from our citizens, parents and other stakeholders.

We recently announced an opening on the Education Committee and all District 115 residents, both parents and non-parents, are invited to complete the data sheet to indicate interest in filling this vacancy. An appointment to this committee is for a two-year term.

The Education Committee provides oversight to all major District educational initiatives and offers insight to the Board of Education on major topics or matters related to curriculum and instruction.  The committee oversees the accomplishment of educational strategic initiatives and improvement of student outcomes. (The committee meets 4-5 times per academic year, currently on Tuesday mornings from 7:30 to 9 am.)

If you are interested in serving on the Education Committee, please submit online or return the attached data sheet to: Eileen Faller, Board Clerk, District Administrative Center, 300 S. Waukegan Rd., Lake Forest, Phone: 847-604-7420, Email: [email protected]) by December 1, 2017.

We anticipate interviewing finalists in December, with an appointment being announced shortly thereafter.

Even if you are not selected, please note that all our committee meetings are open to the public. Committee meeting times and dates are posted on the website www.lfhs.org.

Thank you very much for your interest in our students and school.

Sincerely,

Reese Marcusson
Board of Education President
