PRIDE IN THE PRESENT. SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE. THE BUFFALO WAY!

Nov 13-19, 2017
LAST CHANCE to help Smoky families!

The holiday season is quickly approaching. As a way of showing gratitude for and encouragement of our community, Smoky Hill High School will again be working to support our families during the Thanksgiving holiday. We want to celebrate the diversity found in our community by providing families the opportunity to purchase food that honors family traditions and needs. With this in mind, we will be collecting funds rather than food. Our goal is to provide King Soopers' cards (alcohol and tobacco excluded) for all Smoky Hill High School and feeder school families from whom we receive an on-time request for this support.

Please consider supporting our families. The Thanksgiving Meal Project is only successful with help from our families, staff and community members. Donations of any amount are appreciated. We are accepting donations in the form of cash or credit (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). Cash donations can be made in the main office of Smoky Hill High School, 16100 East Smoky Hill Road, Aurora, CO 80015. Please click on the link below to complete a donation by credit card.

Your donation is tax deductible, and you will be provided a donation letter in your email receipt.

COUNSELING CORNER:
Did you know that Arizona State University has 103,000 students?  73 thousand of those students are "on the ground" at 4 different ASU campuses in the Tempe/Phoenix metropolitan region.  30 thousand students are online students.  Did you know that the Barrett Honors College at ASU has a total of 6,900 students with an average g.p.a. of 3.8 and with average test scores of ACT: 29 and SAT: 1380?

COUNSELING TIP:

Parents of seniors, what are your students plans after high school?  If college is in their plans and they need to start, complete or ask questions about their college application, please have them stop in at Post Grad or talk to his or her counselor.  Remember, applying to college is a multi-step process.  Don't forget to have them request your transcript from Post Grad to be sent to the colleges they are applying to.  Don't forget to apply for financial aid at FAFSA.ed.gov.  And don't forget to get to have their ACT or SAT scores sent from the testing company to the colleges they are applying to.  Please see Mrs. Horst in Post Grad if you have any questions.
