"This is the whole purpose of life: Find God. Be in love with God."

December 2017 Announcements

"We are all children of God, from our inception unto eternity.  Become identified with Universal Love, expressed in service to all, both materially and spiritually; then you will know who Jesus Christ was, and you can say in  your soul that we are all one band, all sons of One God!" Paramahansa Yogananda, Second Coming of Christ

3-hour Meditation with Kirtan Chanting: Thursday, December 7, 7:00pm - 10:00pm

"Sound or vibration is the most powerful force in the universe.  Music is a divine art, to be used not only for pleasure, but as a path to God-realization.  Vibrations resulting from devotional singing lead to attunement with the Cosmic Vibration or the Word.  Chants should be sung not once but many times, utilizing the cumulative power of repetition until the singer feels great bliss wafting through the radio of his heart.  When this joy is felt it is proof that God has answered the singer, and that his devotion has been properly tuned; the broadcasting of his ardor in chanting has been true and deep." Paramahansa Yogananda
Christmas Social: Sunday, December 10, 12:15 pm - 2:00 pm

Please join us on Sunday, December 10, after service, to partake in holiday cheer at our Christmas Social.  We will sing Christmas carols, and enjoy hot cider, cookies, and a light snack.  All are welcome!

All Day Christmas Meditation: Saturday, December 16

On December 16, from 10:00am to 5:00pm, we will hold our all day Christmas meditation. Years ago Paramahansa Yogananda established the custom of setting aside one day of the Christmas season for an all-day meditation, so that devotees might spend an entire day united in spiritual effort, and in deepening communion with God and Christ.

Please bring a devotional offering of fruit and a freewill donation in a sealed envelope as a symbol of loyalty to the work of SRF.   You may also bring an armrest if you wish to practice the AUM technique.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

10:00 am - 2:00 pm: Morning meditation
2:00 pm - 2:30 pm: Intermission
2:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Afternoon meditation

Click here for official SRF guidelines for the All Day Christmas meditation.

All are welcome.
