Veterinary Field Projects: Making Quality Veterinary Care Accessible

Small animal veterinary field project: St.Vincent & the Grenadines 2017

One of the cornerstone's of our work is executing v eterinary field projects. Such projects  provide direct veterinary services and quality care to animals in need on a large scale. On average, we have at least one veterinary team deployed each month providing free veterinary services in locations around the world. In  the last few months we have had six teams active in six different countries.

St. Vincent & the Grenadines

Ecuador

Honduras

Peru

And most recently, in Nicaragua and Saint Lucia. As a result of all of these small animal projects, more than 1500 free sterilizations were provided and up to 2000 animals directly benefited from World Vets assistance.

To aid in the delivery of such assistance, we have volunteer opportunities that not only facilitate quality veterinary care but also enable individuals to be a part of the work that we do around the world. If you are looking to volunteer your skills abroad and make a difference in the animal world, see our upcoming volunteer opportunities here. If you represent an animal charity abroad and wish to benefit from a World Vets veterinary team, find out more here

Help us Contribute to the Eradication of Rabies!

This year World Vets participated in World Rabies Day (Sept 28) -  an international global day of action to raise awareness for rabies prevention - by hosting a community outreach campaign in Nicaragua that provided free rabies vaccinations for dogs.

Rabies is an infectious viral disease that causes thousands of deaths each year worldwide.  One country where we work that has a serious rabies threat is Cambodia. As such, on our 2017 small animal project we will be vaccinating each canine patient against rabies, but we need your help to do it!

Civil - Military Missions: Now Recruiting for 2018

World Vets continues to be the veterinary non-governmental organization (NGO) represented on two U.S. Navy led humanitarian aid missions: Pacific Partnership and Continuing Promise. These missions provide medical, dental and veterinary coverage to countries in South East Asia and the Pacific as well as Latin America and the Caribbean. The goal of these missions is to strengthen alliances, improve upon the capacity to deliver humanitarian assistance and disaster relief and finally, to improve security cooperation among partner nations.

World Vets contributes veterinary manpower and skills to accomplish these mission`s VET requirements by organizing volunteer opportunities for veterinary professionals. As such, our teams work alongside and in collaboration with US Army vets and technicians as well as animal health care professionals and local veterinarians in host nations.

We are now recruiting for World Vets veterinary team that will take part on the 2018 Continuing Promise mission. Find out more here
