RDGA TEAMS UP WITH GOLF GENIUS
TO PROVIDE TRAINING FOR NEW USGA
TOURNAMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Ken Dixon from Golf Genius leads a seminar on the new USGA Tournament Management System hosted by the RDGA at Oak Hill Country Club on November 15.

On Wednesday, November 15 and again on Friday, December 1, the Rochester District Golf Association hosted two informational seminars at Oak Hill Country Club introducing the next-generation scoring system being provided by the USGA to our Member Clubs .

The RDGA welcomed Golf Genius Northeast Region representative Ken Dixon to Oak Hill twice, to lead the seminars and provide free-of-charge demonstrations of the Tournament Management system to representatives of RDGA Member Clubs, as well as Western New York PGA Section Professionals, who were also able to earn education credits for attending the one-day seminar. This new "Tournament Management" (or "TM") product will replace all current versions of the USGA's Tournament Pairing Program, or TPP - INCLUDING TPP-Client and TPP Online Club.

Provided by golf software innovator Golf Genius, the USGA's Tournament Management will offer many options to club administrators and PGA Professionals for tournament scoring, league management, outside event management, printed tournament materials and more. Through the end of the year, the USGA will be offering its new USGA Tournament Management software as a program available to all member clubs of an officially-recognized Allied Golf Association - including all  Member Clubs in the Rochester District Golf Association.

If your club was unable to send a representative to one of these sessions, there will still be opportunities for your Club's management to attend a smaller training session at the RDGA office during the off-season. A full schedule of smaller, in-house training sessions will soon be announced.

Until then, if the tournament administrator at your club is interested in attending one of these smaller training sessions, feel free to have them call the RDGA office at 585-292-5950 to put your club on the list.

THE RDGA THANKS MARK LITTLE
FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE

LONG TIME VOLUNTEER
SERVED ON BOARD of DIRECTORS

The RDGA wishes to thank Mark Little - a long-time volunteer and active supp orter of the District - for his years of service as he completes his current term on the RDGA Board of Directors.

An avid golfer, Little began by volunteering for the RDGA and eventually was invited to serve on the Board of Directors. During his time on the Board, Little volunteered for both the Tournament Committee and the Junior Tournament Committee.

In 2014, when the Board was looking to fill the two vacant positions of RDGA Treasurer and RDGA Secretary, Little stepped up to serve in both capacities on the Executive Committee. Although he served just one year as Treasurer, he stayed on as RDGA Secretary for three full seasons.

Although Little will be stepping down at the conclusion of his current term on the RDGA Executive Committee as of Dec. 31, he hopes to remain an active volunteer for future RDGA activities.
