Metz Header Final
The Metz Center for Sleep Dentistry                                                                              November 2017

T he Competency Program is a truly unique educational opportunity. Not only do the participants get to be a part of the Step Up Continuum, but they join in a small group setting of learning.

Basic science, clinical practice, literature, practice management and hands-on training with the appliances involved are all part of the process. The small group allows for an easy dialogue and exchange of ideas, and individual cases and questions often drive the direction of the discussion.
The Competency Study Series is limited to 10 dentists.

Quotes from 2017 Competency Study Series graduates:

"The Competency Series with Dr. Metz is a concentrated series of meetings in a small group that isn't just about appliances that we can provide patients with SDB. It is a comprehensive ongoing study and understanding of the disease, its prevalence in our population, and how we as dentists can help discover, guide and sometimes treat Sleep Apnea.  The best part is that you are not alone. Great group support!
Robin Jungblut, DDS

" Never have I experienced an educational process as unique and enriching as this [course]. You will look at sleep medicine in an entirely different manner and be exposed to the latest techniques and diagnostic procedures. I highly recommend the Competency Study Series to anyone who wants to take their dental sleep medicine practice to the highest level."

Our October Sleep Medicine Consensus Featured
an Inspiring Powerhouse Roster of Experts!
For 10 years, James E. Metz, DDS, has been the driving force behind a continuum of dynamic sleep dentistry educational opportunities with the goal to bring Dentistry and Medicine together to treat the overwhelming number of individuals that suffer from sleep breathing disorders. Dr. Metz's efforts culminated in our October opportunity to learn from world renown doctors whose depth of knowledge and experience is beyond exceptional.

Dr. James Metz welcomed three outstanding experts as the featured speakers of the consensus, (left image) Gilles Lavigne, DMD, PhD, (right image) David Gozal, MD, MBA, & Leila Kheirandish-Gozal, MD.

"Dr. Lavigne conveyed how complicated and unreliable testing can be. Hix is key!"

"Dr. David Gozal was loaded with research findings of pertinent topics about sleep apnea."
"Leila Kheirandish-Gozal stressed that children that snore need to be evaluated."

We asked all the attendees to describe the most important factor that led them to make the decision to attend the consensus.

"I could not miss the opportunity to learn from the three outstanding featured speakers!

"The clinical presentations from the lecturers are important to me so I may treat my patients more effectively."
