Tzedakah Box Project Reminder-
Power of Participation

Remember to display your box at home and send in your tzedakah collection for the  2018 Annual Campaign

Dear Yeshivat Noam Parents,

We are very excited to send you a Yeshivat Noam Tzedakah box today to help us launch our 2018 Annual Campaign Tzedakah Box Project. We have labeled the project "Annual Campaign 2018 - The Power of Participation (POP)" and are hoping to get 100% participation from Yeshivat Noam students, faculty and parents. We are one large "Noam" family!

One of the goals of the Annual Campaign is to raise money for our Scholarship Fund. We strongly believe that it is crucial that each child and parent at Yeshivat Noam understands that not all families are able to pay for a Jewish education. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the families who cannot afford tuition are able to remain enrolled in our school.

In this week's parsha, Parshat Vayetzei, we learn about the importance of the mitzvah of ma'aser. Yaakov promises Hashem that if he returns to his house safely he will give Hashem 1/10th of everything Hashem gives him. By giving ma'aser we acknowledge that everything we have comes from Hashem.

Here are some details:

· Tzedakah boxes (or the money contained within them) should be sent to school monthly with your child on the first Monday of the month. Any day the first week of the month will qualify for participation. Families with more than one student should divide their contributions accordingly.

· Classes in Buds through Grade 5 with a majority of students participating will have a "POP" corn celebration (Power of Participation)

· The Campaign will run from today until the Annual Dinner on March 12, 2018 with contests in Buds through 5th Grade running monthly in December, January, February and March.

· We hope you keep the Tzedakah box in a prominent location in your home so that it becomes evident to your children that giving tzedakah to Yeshivat Noam is a priority in your life.

Thank you for partnering with us to make this project a success. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact Shaindy Brothman at [email protected].

With thanks,

Rabbi Chaim Hagler, Principal

Robbie Scharf, Co- President
Abie Cohen, Co- President
Barbara Glick, Annual Campaign Co-Chair
Josh Chaitovsky, Annual Campaign Co-Chair
Doron Katz, Annual Campaign Co-Chair

(This project is to motivate student involvement and excitement and does not "count" towards Scroll of Honor recognition levels.)

Bat Mitzvah Project Benefitting Renewal

Dear Yeshivat Noam,
For my Bat Mitzvah project I am raising money for Renewal, a Jewish organization that helps people with kidney problems find kidney donors. I chose this particular organization because my father found a kidney donor in only three days after meeting with them. Renewal found an amazing man whose kidney was a great match for my dad. We were so grateful for this miracle. The surgery was a success, but unfortunately my dad passed away shortly after due to complications following the surgery. The money raised will be used to transport the donors if they live far away. It's also used to help promote awareness for kidney donation. Kidney donation saves lives and it is a huge mitzvah!

Please click here to donate to this worthy cause that has such a special place in my heart. This mitzvah is in honor and  memory of my dad, Jordan Levy, z''l.  Thank you!

Sincerely,
Mattea Levy
Bat Mitzvah Project Collecting Children's Books for Houston

Hi, my name is Sara Mirwis. I was born in Houston, Texas. I moved with my family to Teaneck 5 years ago (when my older siblings were headed to Yeshiva University). My family lived in Houston for 17 years. We lived in the Young Israel neighborhood. My dad still works there and commutes every week. I am SO SO SAD because of the hurricane. So many people and friends I know have been flooded and have lost all of their things : (

I decided that for my Bat Mitzvah I will collect as many children's books as possible and send them with my dad each week to the different neighborhoods and schools. That way all of the children of Houston can have books to read (and hopefully also keep them a little distracted from the sadness around them).
If you can donate a new or like new children's book you can help me with this project.

My mom said she can pick up from anyone's home if they need (her cell: 713-545-3684). OR, you can drop it on our front porch as well (1270 Fayette Street).

Thank you for reading this and thank you if you are able to help the children in Houston.
