STEP UP THAT CURB APPEAL!
Start the holidays at your doorstep with  a s how-stopping
outdoor display that'll  bump up your Christmas curb appeal!

Front Porch Tree:
Create a country-style look on the front porch this holiday season with indoor/outdoor materials such as a wicker basket and burlap. Add a few wrapped "gifts" to complete the look.

Double Up On Your Ribbons!
Use two textured ribbons, such as velvet and brocade options in complementary hues, to create a beautiful bow at the bottom of your wreath. Fill out the rest of the wreath with ornaments and flowers.

Light The Way!

For a simple, elegant look - and to light the way for Santa - place votive candles in glass cylinders or mason jars.

Window Box Cheer!

Add bright red botanical accents to a year-round window box. Choose a Christmas classic like Amaranthus that adds great texture without requiring a lot of care.

DO IT YOURSELF - CHRISTMAS AND HOLIDAY DECOR!
The holiday season is the best time of year for do-it-yourself decorating. Have fun & enjoy!

Moss Wreaths: Add graphic punch and organic style to your
front doors with square moss wreaths.  To create these, you'll need square wreath forms, bagged moss, ribbon and approximately three hours of crafting time.  In addition to their texture and color, the square shape of the wreaths offers a fresh new take on an old holiday classic.

Lantern Garland: To add a unique, textural touch to the home's front doors, create a one-of-a-kind farmhouse inspired garland with lanterns attached to nautical rope.  In order to attach the garland to the house, screw c-hooks directly into the exterior trim on which to lay each section of rope.

Bucket Planters: Although grass tends to dry up during the winter months, you can still add a pop of green to your holiday curb appeal with potted evergreens - particularly juniper and cypress bushes.  Dress them up with organic style by planting them in galvanized metal buckets and decorating them with burlap.

Mailbox Decor: To turn a basic mailbox into a show stopping focal point, surround your mailbox with a giant candy cane and lollipops made from plywood or bought from your local craft store, small bouncy balls, colored burlap and twine.  Otherwise, you can keep it simple by adding garland around the back of the mailbox so that it does not impede the mail carrier from delivering your mail.  For a graphic punch of color, add accents in with the green garland - such as  such as faux berries.

Arbor Pinecones: For an extra layer of visual interest, consider hanging some mistletoe or pinecones along the center of the top of an arbor.  Create a cluster by dipping pinecones into white paint, then bundling them together with twine.
USEFUL TIPS!
Winter is the prime time to prune dormant deciduous trees & shrubs.

WRAP DELICATE SHRUBS!
Heavy snow, ice, and high winds can dry and split your delicate shrubs.  To protect them, a great option is to wrap these shrubs in burlap, or to hide them under overturned plastic pots or buckets.

Consider leaving ornamental grasses and interesting perennials such as: Cornflower, Black-Eyed Susan and Sedum in the landscape over winter months, as they add structure and interest to your winter landscape!
