Spelling Bee
 3rd-5th Graders - Register for the Walnut Grove Spelling Bee!
The Spelling Bee is coming to Walnut Grove on
Tuesday, December 12th at 4:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. It is open to all 3rd through 5th graders.Could this be your first step to the Scripps National Spelling Bee?? Come give it a try.

Multicultural Fair
Help Needed!
The Multicultural Fair is coming up at Walnut Grove on December 15th, and we are in need of 30 flag poles to display various country flags in front of the school. We have the flags, we just need flag poles that will screw into the ground to display them. We are seeking a talented person who would be able to construct flag poles about 10ft tall and create a way to stake them into the ground. We would need the poles and stakes by December 1st. If this sounds like something you would be able to do for our school, please contact Jen Heid for more information at [email protected].

If you are a 5th grader, stay tuned for information coming to you this week about our yearbook cover contest. We're looking for artists to to submit drawings for our annual yearbook cover, with an emphasis on Walnut Grove's 50th Anniversary! So start thinking about ideas! More information to follow soon!

Rockport & NorCal Fundraising Update
 We are happy to announce the final results of our fundraising efforts for Rockport Texas and Northern California Fire victims. Together, we have raised a total of
$3,630 for Rockport
and
$1,403 for Northern California fire
victims
!
The school district in Rockport has recently created Amazon wish lists for their schools so we were able to use the money to fulfill wish list items. With our $3,630, we were able to buy all the requested books (148 of them to be exact) on all their elementary school wish lists, as well as numerous other items such as ink, paper, paper cutters, hole punchers, bookcases, globes, pens, rugs, stools, clipboards and more. Our efforts fulfilled a very large portion of all their lists.
A representative from their District has expressed their sincere appreciation and gratitude to our entire community! They say THANK YOU SO MUCH!
And with the $1,403 we raised for Northern California fire victims, we were able to donate the money directly to a local credit union that set up a relief fund where 100% of all donations will be dispersed among the 4 affected counties. The funds will go directly into rebuilding the lives, homes and businesses affected by the devastating fires.
THANK YOU to every single person that contributed!
