Angel Tree Gifts
Angel tree gifts are due back this Sunday, December 3. Please drop all gifts off in the Family Life Center.

Angel tree gifts will be distributed to children here in our community. Thank you to everyone who participated in this Christmas mission!

Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade
Sunday, December 3, 3 PM

Don't miss this year's Murrells Inlet Christmas parade! The route begins at Sunnyside Avenue (Prosser's BBQ) and proceeds 1.3 miles south on Business 17 to Wachesaw Road.

Give a shout out to the Belin Memorial staff who will have a float in the parade and will be tossing out candy and spreading good cheer. Girl Scout Troops 130 and 2500 will be collecting non-perishable food items along the parade route for Belin's Backpack Mission. Come on out and join the fun - bring along neighbors, family, friends and a food item or two!

"Let There Be Christmas"

Belin Chancel Choir, accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra, presents "Let There Be Christmas" on Sunday, December 10, at 8:45 AM and 11 AM in The Sanctuary.
 
This service in song is a joyous celebration of hope and peace for the Christmas season. From jubilant songs of praise to reflective carols of peace, this experience is filled with moments designed to energize the spirit of the season within you. Participate in the singing of such beloved favorites as The First Noel, Silent Night, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and more. At the conclusion, you are certain to say, "Let the be  Christmas!"

Blessing of the Animals

St. John's Outdoor Chapel

The annual Blessing of the Animals will be held in St. John's Outdoor Chapel. This is a time to give thanks for all God's creatures and remember those pets no longer with us. All pets are welcome and will be individually blessed. Remembrance candles will be available to light as well. Please have pets in a carrier or on a leash. Monetary and pet supply donations to benefit local animal shelters will be appreciated.

Advent Family Photo Challenge

Advent Family Photo Challenge

Celebrate the coming of Jesus by taking part in this family photo challenge! Grab your family, friends, pets, etc. and take a picture representing each of the ten assigned words (click HERE for rules & info). Share your photos on the Belin Facebook page, Instagram, or Twitter. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative pics!

Adult Fellowship Luncheon

Join us for lunch on December 6th! Jim Sellers will lead us in Christmas caroling. Please bring a dish to share and some friends!

Poinsettia Orders
A limited number of poinsettias to decorate The Sanctuary and The Harbor are available to order in memory or honor of loved ones. A list of persons honored or remembered will be inserted in the December 10 worship bulletins. Poinsettias may be picked up after the Christmas Eve services on December 24.

Christmas Day Community Dinner

Family Life Center

Free for everyone - help spread the word! 7,500 meals are expected to be served at three locations across the Grand Strand including Belin Memorial. Meal delivery is available by calling 843.781.1326 by December 23.

Donations Welcomed!
Monetary donations are greatly appreciated! Your tax deductible donation may be made payable to Community Christmas Dinner. Mail to Christmas Dinner c/o St. John Greek Church, 3301 33rd Avenue Ext N, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

Over 100 Volunteers Needed!
We are in need of many volunteers for this great community event. Here are some of the days/times/duties that need to be filled at this time:
Dec. 22: 3 trucks to pick up paper products at Greek Church
Dec. 23: 1 truck and 2 people to pick up bread at Greek Church
Dec. 24: 7 people to cook meal items
Dec. 25: 45 people to make to go plates (9 AM - noon)
10 people to cook (9 AM - noon)
10 people to prepare to-go meals (noon - 3 PM)
20 people to serve dine-in meals (noon - 3 PM)
  5 people to serve desserts (9 AM - noon)
  5 people to assist with clean up (2:30 PM - 5 PM)

Dessert donations will also be appreciated and may be brought to the Family Life Center on December 24 or 25.

Sunday Worship Greeters
The new schedule of Sunday greeters for January - June of 2018 will be created soon, and we are in need of new volunteers. Please contact Peg Otterberg if you would like to be added to our team of Sunday greeters or if you are a greeter and have any changes to your availability or contact information.

Children's Christmas Pageant
"Joy Story"
Wednesday, December 13
6 PM in the Family Life Center


Rehearsals are at 12:15 PM on these Sundays: November 12, 19, December 3 and 10. Please plan for your child to attend all rehearsals. 

The Gathering Christmas dinner will be served beginning at 5 PM on the night of the pageant. Reservations for dinner must be made by Monday, December 11. If you choose to attend the pageant only, please come and find a seat by 5:50 PM. Dinner reservations may be made online at this time. The menu includes fried chicken, green beans, macaroni & cheese, roll, dessert, and beverage. Cost is $8 adult; $4 ages 3-11; no charge under 3 years.

Prayer Shawls Needed
The Nurture Team at Belin Memorial is in need of prayer shawls. They can be knit or crocheted and will be given to members of our congregation who are ill or home-bound. Contact Carolyn Jackson if you have any questions or are in need of yarn (843.215.6760).

Prayer shawls may be dropped off in the Family Life Center lobby during office hours.
