If you currently have a plan through the Bethlehem Chamber, for yourself or your employees, you will need to notify us of your plans for 2018.  If the insurance carrier is continuing the plan into 2018, you may elect to continue in your current plan at the new premium rate (see Insurance page at link below for new rates).  If you prefer to enroll in a different plan for 2018, you will need to submit a new application and paperwork.  Plans and rates have been posted to our website, click here to review.

Bethlehem will be holding a First Night Celebration to ring in the New Year! A family friendly and fun event, First Night will be held on New Year's Eve,  Sunday, December 31st .
The celebration will begin with  Fireworks at the Four Corners at
6:30pm followed by entertainment and activities from 7-10pm.

First Night will be a great traffic generator in the town and there are many possibilities for local businesses to tie into the event. If your business will be open during the event, please make sure to let us know and share what special activities you have planned so we can help spread the word.

The Bethlehem Central School District will hold their Holiday Caring & Sharing Drive to benefit families in need in our town during the Holiday season.  Interested businesses /organizations may purchase grocery gift cards in smaller denominations ($10, $20, $25) and drop off at the BCHS Special Education and Student Services (SESS) office before December 8.  For more information, contact Sherri Fitzpatrick at 518-439-8886.

The Bethlehem Lions Club's Annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale begins on Saturday, Nov 25 at the lot near 542 Route 9W in Glenmont.  Hours are Saturday and Sunday until sellout.  Sale benefits the Lions Clubs' service projects which assist those with vision and hearing-related disabilities.

In an effort to recognize those people, organizations and events who make a measurable impact on 
travel business in Albany County and the greater Capital Region , the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau annually bestows the Hospitality Excellence Award. 
 
The Hospitality Excellence Award, is awarded annually to a person; and/or an organization who makes an impact on hospitality in our region. This can include one event, program or a history of impact. The nominee does not have to a partner of the ACCVB. 

To nominate for the Hospitality Excellence Award, simply visit the website and complete the online form. All nominations will be reviewed by the award selection committee, comprised of Bureau board members. Selection will be announced at the Bureau Annual Awards Celebration. The award winner and nominator will be notified prior to the event.

 COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS  

The Town of Bethlehem presents the 11th Annual Holiday Parade, Friday, December 1, 6pm near the Four Corners in Delmar.  Fun for the family, parade route starts at Town Hall and ends at the Four Corners with a visit from Santa!  Visit the website for more information.
 
The Delaware Avenue Complete Streets Feasibility Study Draft Report is now available for review and public comment. The Draft Report can be found on the study website herePublic comments should be submitted to via email by December 1.  The Draft Report is expected to be presented to the Town Board at their December 13 meeting for consideration of adoption and identification of next steps. 

The Delmar Community Orchestra, under the direction of Conductor Michael Blostein, will present a Holiday Concert on Monday, December 11, at 7:30pm at the Bethlehem Town Hall (445 Delaware Ave., Delmar). The concert is free and open to the public. The program will include will include selections from Vivaldi, Sibelius, and Telemann as well as pops and holiday favorites.

The Saturday Delmar Farmers Market  has moved indoors!  Saturdays,  9am-1pm at the Bethlehem Middle School on Kenwood Avenue.  Visit the website for details.
