Reel Life Film Club
Screening of To Be Heard
Friday, December 1st, 6pm

"If you don't learn how to write your own life story, someone else will write it for you."

Teens and Teachers join us Friday, 12/1, at 6pm for pizza and a movie. Reel Life Film Club invites you to a special screening of the documentary, "To Be Heard." A great opportunity for any teens interested in writing, slam poetry or filmmaking. Director Amy Sultan, co-founder of the Power Writers program and Pearl Quick, one of the Powe r Writers featured in the documentary will be on hand for a discussion after the film.  
 
This event is open to middle school & high school students and educators. We recommend this film for grades 8-12. RSVP requested so we know how much pizza to get. To register, email Michelle Rivas at [email protected].

Reel Life Film Club is a collaboration between Butterfield Library, Desmond-Fish Library and Howland Public Library.

Card and Board Games Club
Friday, December 1st, 3-5pm

The first Friday of every month, middle & high school students can get together to play D&D and other card games from Magic to Yugioh. Just bring your cards and we'll provide the tables and snacks. New and classic board games are also available to play. 
Bakeology 101
Friday, December 8th, 3:30-5pm

Learn to bake like a pro with the help of local baker and educator, Dana Devine O'Malley. Each month we'll be baking up a homemade treat. This month we'll be making decorated holiday cookies. Space is limited.

Art & Zine Club
Friday, Dec 15th, 3:30-5pm

Calling all artists, writers, photographers and cartoonists. Meet up with other Beacon area creative teens to draw and makes some zines. What's a Zine? Zines are DIY self published art books and magazines. Different types of zines and art making techniques are introduced each month. Artists can work independently or collaboratively. This month we'll experiment with printmaking and designing and carving own rubber stamps.

RSVP preferred so we have enough supplies available.

Anime Club
Friday, December 22nd, 3-5pm

Anime watchers & Manga readers alike, come join us the 4th Friday of each month from 3-5pm for Anime & Manga Club. Members get to choose the anime we watch from the library's collection or streaming on cruchyroll.com. Anime Club is open to middle & high school students.
No registration needed.
