Uncommon Type: Some Stories by Tom Hanks
Submitted by Terri S.
With excellent story-telling, thoughtful dialogue, authentic and believable characters (which feel so real, like someone we know, or even ourselves), Tom Hanks has proven that he’s as gifted a writer and he is as an actor. The stories (which feature a typewriter in each of the 17 tales) were so good; I didn’t want any of them to end! Among my favorites was the poignant tale of the WWII veteran who, on Christmas Eve in 1953, is troubled by his memories of Christmas Eve in 1944. The audiobook is a gem, read by Tom Hanks himself. One of my favorites for 2017! (Fiction)
