Open House on Sonoma/Napa Fires and Lessons Learned
Hosted by the Emergency Preparedness Commission, Mill Valley Fire Department, and Mill Valley Police Department

Join the Mill Valley Fire Department, Mill Valley Police Department, and the Emergency Planning Commission for a special community meeting to discuss lessons learned from the Sonoma and Napa. The meeting will also include a presentation on fire safety preparedness and tips for Mill Valley residents.

Southern Marin traffic discussed in IJ Forums show
In late October, The Marin IJ hosted a conversation at the Mill Valley Library focusing on potential solutions to Southern Marin's traffic woes. The discussion panelists included Mill Valley Councilmember John McCauley, also a member of the Southern Marin traffic task force; Bob Harrison of Tiburon, a longtime transportation consultant; and Susan Kirsch of Mill Valley.

Neighborhood Leaders Meet with City Staff to Discuss Fire Safety, SLPs, and More
The City of Mill Valley meets twice a year with the leaders of Mill Valley Neighborhood Associations and Homeowners Associations to foster a dialog with local groups, discuss upcoming projects and initiatives, and answer questions arising in the community. Neighborhood groups are an important part of our effort to keep Mill Valley residents informed and engaged with the news, events, and decision-making of the City.

Friends of Steps, Lanes, and Paths Start "Adopt a SLP" Program
The all-volunteer group Friends of the Steps, Lanes and Paths is kicking off a city-wide "Adopt-an-SLP" program for individuals, families, neighborhood groups, schools, book clubs, businesses, scouts or scout troops can formally Adopt and SLP. The Friends have also started a Second Saturday SLP Improvement Program beginning Saturday, November 11.

MillerFest Was a Success!
On Saturday, November 4th, hundreds of Mill Valley residents joined their neighbors, local merchants and City officials to celebrate the new Miller Avenue with a ribbon cutting ceremony, live performances, walking and bike tours, music and lots of fun for the whole family.

Mill Valley Police Department Hosts Shared Resources Traffic Enforcement Operations Event
Earlier this week, the Mill Valley Police Department is hosting a Shared resources Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) in an effort to reduce vehicle code violations, and increase safety with the assistance and cooperation of our neighboring Southern Marin agencies. Participating agencies include Central Marin Police Department, Tiburon Police Department, and Mill Valley Police Department.

Marin Clean Highways Works with City of Mill Valley to Beautify Hamilton and Hwy 101 Intersection

Spectacular visual changes are coming to the Mill Valley frontage road near the Hamilton Drive and Highway 101 intersection.
800-feet of the frontage road has already been cleared of weeds, and soon native plants will be installed along the fence line.
This beautification project is the result of the combined efforts of the nonprofit Marin Clean Highways; resident M.A. ReyBear ; Johnson's Tree and Garden; RHAA Landscape Architecture

and the City of Mill Valley.

Bayfront Park Volunteer Clean Up Day

The City of Mill Valley is launching our new monthly workdays starting this Saturday, November 11thcleaning up Bayfront Park. Bayfront Park, located at the end of Sycamore Drive just past Mill Valley Middle School, is one of the crown jewels of Mill Valley. This park area is used by kids and adults every day and includes soccer and baseball fields, a skatepark, a dog park and soon a brand-new boat dock. Since this area is one of the most visible spots in the City, we wanted to kick-off our volunteer program here.

Window on the Work: Shakespeare in Love adapted for the stage by Lee Hall

Marin Theatre Company's artistic director Jasson Minadakis, who also is directing Shakespeare in Love, will be joined by artists from the show to talk about the production of the play.
The play: Young Will Shakespeare has writer's block. That is, until he finds his muse - Viola. This beautiful young woman is Will's greatest admirer and will stop at nothing to appear in his next play. In a classic case of mistaken identity and backstage theatrics, Will's love for Viola quickly blossoms, inspiring him to write his first masterpiece. This charming adaptation of the Academy Award-winning screenplay features live musicians and thirteen of the Bay Area's favorite actors!

City Council Meeting - November 6, 2017
