Update on the
Congregational Life and Re-Development Team
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
The Rt. Rev. Daniel Gutiérrez is committed to providing support and resources for parishes so that, together, we may be builders of God's kingdom in our congregations and communities. In this spirit, he has appointed a Congregational Life and Re-Development Team to lead this vital and holy work.
The four co-chairs of the team are: the Rev. Sam Adu Andoh, rector of St. Andrew/St. Monica, Philadelphia; the Rev. Kathryn Andonian, rector of Church of the Holy Spirit, Harleysville; the Rev. Jarrett Kerbel, rector of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Chestnut Hill; and the Rev. Michael Ruk, rector of St. Philip's, New Hope. We will collaborate with other appointees to the team, individuals identified in the Diocese with needed skills or experience, the Diocesan Council, the Council of Deans, the Standing Committee, and the Diocesan staff.
Mission:
In a spirit of partnership, the Congregational Life and Re-Development Team of the Diocese of Pennsylvania will be a catalyst for congregations desiring to grow in mission, ministry and in spiritual vitality.

We believe that God is working in all congregations at all times and we are here to discern with you where the Risen Life of Christ and the Holy Spirit are equipping you and leading you to minister from your gifts.

What we will be doing:
Team A: Congregational engagement and support for vitality and spiritual growth (Chairs: The Rev's. Kathy Andonian and Sam Adu-Andoh)
Provide support, expertise, consulting, appropriate resources, encouragement, creative thinking, and partnership to parishes who seek greater vitality in their mission and ministries
Work collaboratively with the Bishop and the Diocesan staff, as well as other leadership groups
Create a broad network of consultants, programs, resources, and collaborative partners to assist congregations to fully live into Christ's call to discipleship
Team B: Educating the Diocese for congregational development and Discovering and sharing best practices and highlighting success stories in every sort and condition of church (Chair: The Rev. Jarrett Kerbel):
Develop comprehensive, easy-to-access online resources for congregational life, redevelopment, creative ministries, and communications
Engage continuing research and outreach to "populate" DIOPA resources
Develop and present one or more workshops/or seminars in 2018
Consult and collaborate with other Diocesan groups to present resources or workshops
Work with "resourced" churches for support and contacts
Team C: Convening congregations for mutual learning, support and encouragement (Chairs: The Rev's. Michael Ruk and Sam Adu-Andoh):
"Small but strong": Convene smaller churches for sharing of best practices and exploration of mutual/shared initiatives
Gather "like-sized" churches for sharing of best practices and exploration of mutual/shared interests
Gather "affinity" groups of churches to share best practices with the wider Diocese
Work with Deaneries to gather both clergy and lay leaders for learning, sharing, and creative initiatives

Estimadas hermanas y hermanos en Cristo:
El Ilustrísimo Rvdmo. Daniel Gutiérrez, está comprometido en proveer los medios y el apoyo para ayudar a las feligresías, y así juntos, podamos construir el Reino de Dios en nuestras congregaciones y comunidades. En este espíritu, ha nombrado al equipo de trabajo de Vida Congregacional y de Renovación para dirigir esta vital y sagrada labor.
Los cuatro directores del equipo de trabajo son: el Rvdo. Sam Adu Andoh, rector de la iglesia St. Andrew/St. Monica en Philadelphia, la Rvda. Kathryn Andonian, rectora de la feligresía Church of the Holy Spirit en Harleyville; el Rvdo. Jarrett Kerbel, rector de la feligresía de St. Martin-in-the-Fields en Chestnut Hill; y el Rvdo. Equipo de Trabajo A: Compromiso Congregacional y sostenimiento para la vitalidad y crecimiento espiritual (Directores: Rvds. Kathy Andonian y Sam Adu-Andoh)
Proveerán apoyo, con especial conocimiento, consultas, recursos apropiados, para dar ánimo, aportar pensamiento creativo y colaborar con las parroquias que buscan vitalizar grandemente sus misiones y ministerios.
Trabajar en conjunto con el Obispo y el Personal Diocesano, como también con otros líderes y grupos.
Crear un amplio grupo de consultores, programas y recursos, estableciendo un equipo que asista a las congregaciones para vivir de lleno el discipulado al que nos llama Jesús.
Equipo de Trabajo B: Educando a la Diócesis para el desarrollo congregacional, descubriendo y compartiendo las mejores prácticas, destacando todo tipo de historias de éxito y condiciones de la iglesia (Director: Rvdo. Jarrett Kerbel):
Desarrollar en línea, de manera abarcadora y de fácil acceso, los recursos para la vida congregacional, la renovación, la creación de ministerios, y las comunicaciones
Emplear continuamente la investigación y el alcance comunitario para la expansión de los recursos de DIOPA
Desarrollar y presentar uno o más talleres o seminarios para el 2018
Consultar y colaborar con otros grupos diocesanos para que se presenten los recursos o talleres
Trabajar con los medios y contactos que tienen otras iglesias como apoyo
Equipo de Trabajo C: Convocar a las congregaciones para el mutuo aprendizaje, para dar apoyo y para dar ánimo (Directores: Rvds. Michael Ruk y Sam Adu-Andoh):
"Pequeños pero fuertes:" Convocar las iglesias pequeñas para que compartan sus mejores prácticas y explorar mutuamente sus iniciativas
Reunir las iglesias de un número parecido de feligreses, para que compartan las mejores prácticas y para que exploren los intereses que comparten mutuamente.
Reunir los grupos afines de las iglesias para que compartan sus mejores prácticas a lo ancho del trabajo de la Diócesis con los Arcedianatos para que se reúnan ambos, clero y líderes laicos para el aprendizaje, y para compartir el crear iniciativas.
