Alan Moskin, a True Hero, Visits TABC
Few of us ever have the opportunity to meet a true hero.

On Monday, Nov. 6th, students in the senior elective Holocaust Studies class met Mr. Alan Moskin, a World War II vet and a  hero for  students and educators everywhere.

Alan described his childhood growing up in Englewood, NJ, which was at that time, a very diverse community. He encountered antisemitism for the very first time while in the armed forces.

Alan continued to mesmerize students with stories of his service under General Patton as part of the war effort.

The most moving account which Alan shared with the students were his reactions when part of the troops liberating concentration camps. His descriptions were so vivid and emotional, that students were able to visualize some of the horrors which he actually witnessed. Even though so many years have passed since his days in the army, those scenes of beastiality continue to haunt him always. What Alan stressed to all the students assembled, was not to "hate," and never to be a by-stander.

We, at TABC, have been fortunate to have Mr. Moskin visit with Mrs. Reichardt's students every year for the last ten years. May Hashem grant him good health for many more years to deliver his message of survival and compassion.
Comedy  Tonight! in
Mrs. Shavelson's 10A English Class
Satire, satire, satire. Mrs. Shavelson's 10A English class has resounded with snarkiness this week as it completed its unit on social criticism in comedy. We have seen student presentations on both Juvenalian and Horatian satire on such relevant and hot-button topics as dishonest marketing, TSA lapses and misdemeanors, Harvey Weinstein and the tolerance for rape in society, race relations, and the purported misdeads of Milania Trump. This unit stemmed from the medieval satire of Chaucer in his Canterbury Tales.

Diffusion & Osmosis in AP Bio
Last week in Mrs. Ruskin's AP Bio lab, students explored diffusion and osmosis. They measured the rate of osmosis in plant cells and used diffusion rates to calculate the molarity of unknown sugar solutions and various vegetables. Next, they investigated the relationship between surface area, volume, and diffusion rate by creating their own agar "cells" and competing in cell races!

TABC STORM Blows Away Ramaz Rams in Basketball Double Header

Alumni Staying Connected
Below are a few recent highlights of alumni staying connected to our school and our faculty.

Welcome to Ari Hirt '11, who is filling in for Rabbi Grossman as he recovers from knee surgery.
Every Friday alumni come to TABC to learn with our talmidim as part of the Alumni Kollel program. This program is a wonderful opportunity for our alumni to mentor our current students, and for the younger men to see people close to their own age as roll models. The bonds created during this shared talmud Torah time, often long outlasts the school year.
Rabbi Jachter with Rabbi David Pietruszka '96 at the TABC Open House. Rabbi Pietruszka came as a father, checking out his alma mater for his son.

Welcome back to Tzvi Rotblat '15 who is participating in the Friday Alumni Kollel. He's pictured here with younger brothers Ezra '18 and Benzion '21. TABC in the family!

Rabbi Jachter served as Mesader Kiddushin at the wedding of Akiva Fischman '98 and Jenni Yocheved Jimenez. (Akiva is also the brother-in-law of Aliza Fischman, from our Office of Institutional Advancement.)

Pictured are Rabbi Grossman and Rabbi Jachter with the groom at the wedding of Jeremy Doberman '06 & Lauren Sherman.  Rabbi Jachter served as the Mesader Kiddushin.
