10-year Planning Community Forums

Join the St. Anthony Park Community Council at our Community Forums on Saturday November 11 and Wednesday November 15. We heard from hundreds of community members through online surveying, canvassing throughout the neighborhood, and small group conversations on what you want in St. Anthony Park. This feedback is guiding our committees as they draft the vision for the next 10-years in St. Anthony Park. Please join us for the first view of our community priorities and to contribute to fun activities to gather more feedback from our community.

Community event dates:
SAPCC will share mor e information online for additional review and feedback after these events. Our 10-year plan will be sent to the City of St. Paul to be incorporated into the city's comprehensive plan, which will elevate your voices to citywide planning.

Look for additional ways to stay involved, and send  any other thoughts, concerns, or questions to  info@sapcc.org .

November 16 is Give to the Max Day!

The St. Anthony Park Community Council (SAPCC) relies on neighbors like you to support our work by donating your time and financial resources to our community. Give to the Max Day is an organized giving event that raises millions of dollars for Minnesota organizations. Plan your giving to SAPCC at our  GiveMN page  for  Give to the Max Day  on  Thursday, November 16

For over 40 years, the St. Anthony Park Community Council has worked tirelessly to support our community. SAPCC brings residents and organizations together on vital neighborhood interests that enhance the quality of life, strengthen the character and vitality of the community, and ensure that everyone has a voice in the projects that directly affect our neighborhood.

Through the work of staff and dedicated community members, SAPCC makes strides in protecting the natural environment and advancing sustainability; in creating transportation options for all transportation modes; in advancing land development that meshes with the character of the neighborhood and advances our community; and in engaging all members of our neighborhood on issues that matter to them.

Annual Neighborhood Honor Roll

Nominations are open for the St. Paul District Councils' Annual Neighborhood Honor Roll and 2017 St. Anthony Park Community Council Community Spotlight.

Who do you know who has stood out on community initiatives or projects over the last year? Who do you think deserves to be recognized for their efforts?

Each year St. Paul's 17 District Councils recognize outstanding neighbors and partners from across Saint Paul at the annual Neighborhood Honor Roll event. This event allows us to publicly thank the members of our community who give so much time and energy to impact issues that affect us all. The Neighborhood Honor Roll event will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the University of St. Thomas Woulfe Alumni Hall.

This year, SAPCC will recognize additional community members in our Community Spotlight series. We are fortunate to have many more incredible volunteers and community leaders than we are able to recognize through this one event, so please continue to share nominations and stories of community efforts for local recognition.

You can nominate your neighbors and community partners for this recognition on our website
or email nominations to sarah@sapcc.org with 75-100 words describing the work of an individual or partnership you would like to recognize.

Weyerhaeuser Site Redevelopment

Last year SAPCC shared news that the 13-acre Weyerhaeuser site will be redeveloped in the Westgate area of St. Anthony Park. The former lumberyard is slated to become housing to hundreds of seniors and families after construction completes in 2020.

After more than 8 months of working together with the Plymouth-based developer Dominium, the City of St. Paul, Prospect Park, and many other partners, SAPCC has worked to advocate for a strong design for our community and future residents. The site will include a new 2.6 acre public park, connections to the Grand Round bikeway, restored street grid on Berry and Myrtle, and placemaking surrounding the large new apartment buildings. 241 senior apartments for residents 62 years and over, and 121 workforce apartments will support hundreds of community members in St. Anthony Park, with many units reserved for households making 60% area median income or less.

SAPCC will continue to work in partnership with Dominium, the City of St. Paul, Prospect Park, and other neighbors throughout construction to build a positive and sustainable presence in our neighborhood and advocate for amenities that enable residents and neighbors to live active, safe, and healthy lives as part of our vibrant community.

With a growing presence in the Twin Cities, Bicycle Benefits encourages community members to bike by participating in this program to receive discounts from local restaurants and businesses.
